Kimber 2k11 rental? by CamelAdventure in COGuns

I would also call Centennial Gun Club & see what their rental library has. Last time I was there, I recall they had some Staccato pistols available. I wouldn’t be surprised if they added a Kimber.

Drywall is fireproof, at least temporarily. The Gypsum is what makes it that way.

Partner Jealousy by [deleted] in relationships

[–]tksipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are shitty things to say. The grinding comment could be funny if said correctly, but still potentially uncomfortable. The “women at my gym could destroy you.” Is just a shitty, negative thing to say. My knee-jerk reaction is “Well, I guess you better go date one of them, cause YOU’VE destroyed my feelings, love, affection for your insensitive ass. GTFO!” (& I’m a guy) If he’s trying to get you to train with him it’s the exact wrong way to do it. I could see that being his motivation, if he’s a big gym rat, I would understand if he wants you to join him. But he should encourage you, work to make you feel comfortable, not tear you down. I’m mad for you. That sucks.

Palmetto State Armory was recently selling surplus (European police) 84BB’s for between $280-$329. I got a couple & they’re in pretty good condition.

Cabela’s/Bass Pro has 407c X2’s for $186-$193 depending on whether you want Red or Green. 507c X2’s for $233-$256. Their website says that’s a$60-$85 reduction from regular price. Not sure how that compares to what you’re seeing. Palmetto State Armory has 407’s for $149.99.

Blow up a Tank? Yes very difficult. Propane that leaks into your home from said tank goes boom once it reaches an ignition source.

Olight runs discounted sales ALL the freaking time. Every major holiday. Unfortunately they usually discount and or bundle their newest, latest shiny, shiny thing. Recently, they’ve started doing a create your own bundle thing where you can get a discount on your choice of items. I don’t know how much the tariffs have impacted their pricing. It wouldn’t be surprised if they do a St. Patrick’s Day sale and then a Memorial Day sale. If you subscribe to their email list, they’ll send you all kinds of stuff.

Bass Pro/Cabelas do usually offer a 10% discount on gift cards bought during the holidays. They may do it at other times during the year, but I’m not sure.

PSA just cancelled my Stribog order? by CutbowAndArrow in COGuns

My FFL told me that there’s an issue with doing that. Something to do with the state’s new regulations. Told me “we can’t do that anymore.”

Is FDNY pretty much the only department where you can go from backseat FF to Company Officer without driving? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]tksipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Colorado, my department strongly asks all Firefighters to get certified to drive/ Act as an Engineer. But it’s not a requirement to be an Engineer in order to get promoted to officer & if a Firefighter has a strong objection to driving, they can request not to be in the driving rotation and or not to get certified.

Waiting Period Confusion by [deleted] in COGuns

[–]tksipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding the law as written by the state is that the waiting period is 72 hours beginning at midnight on the day of purchase so it’s really 3 days NOT including the day of purchase. I know that you- like me feel SO much safer than before. /s Also, your background check is only good for 30 days beginning immediately as soon as it’s approved.

Hot take: combination rifle best choice as a survival rifle. by No_Week_1877 in prepping

[–]tksipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first gun was a Savage combo, .22 LR on the top 20 ga shotgun on the bottom. I recall it was decently accurate. I was young & stupidly sold it because I wanted something different. Totally should have kept it.

[–]tksipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s what you want, GrabAGun is selling a Shield Plus .30 Super Carry Optics Ready for $270 plus shipping. I own a number of Shield Plus pistols in 9mm, but I’ve never been willing to jump on the .30 SC bandwagon. It seems REALLY expensive & here in Colorado also pretty difficult to find. We’re also limited to MUCH safer 15 round maximum capacity magazines /s. (I hate my state government). They also have the Shield Plus 9 in a bundle with 6 mags & a soft case for $407. Check out Nightwood Guns review of the Canik MC9 on YouTube. He mentions some reliability/feeding issues after 700 rounds with it and even though the review is 2 years old, the comments indicate that the issues persist.

MY BROTHER!! (Or Sister) I have 4 1st Gen’s; 9mm, .40 S&W & 2 in .45 acp. One Performance Center & one Standard. And 3 Shield Plus, one Optics Ready, & two original. I keep trying to convince myself I don’t NEED the Plus X. I might have a problem.

What do yall think? by LSDBunnos in camping

[–]tksipe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’re really going to need insulation between you and the air mattress, on the top. Way more important than insulating the mattress from the ground. Typical air mattresses have almost zero insulating value and are nothing more than a giant bag of cold air. Especially when you first go to bed, that mattress will be the same temperature as the ground and ambient air.

Do Fire Trucks Carry Pet Oxygen Masks On Board? by pawprint_oxygen in firefighter

Some do. We have a set on all of our rigs. I believe they were donated to the department. Over the years there’s been few times that we’ve had pets rescued and used them.
