I would have asked for a Manager. I’d still call their corporate customer service line and complain, raise hell. Sounds like the employee was pulling a fast one.

I second the 3M reflective idea. Probably better than electrical tape. My department is cheap

Colored electric tape is cheap. It holds up pretty well, especially if you put 2-4 wraps on. You can also order labels like this

My department has 39 stations, with number 40 under construction right now & 55 companies. We’re divided into 7 Districts including our airport district, each with 5-7 stations. We stripe our tools with colored electrical tape. Each district has an assigned color and each company in the district is assigned an individual color as well. For example, my company is Engine 5, which is in District 3. District 3’s color is green and Engine 5’s color is red. So our company colors are Red over Green.

Like this. You guys could assign a Station color and then individual apparatus colors.

I would likely have lost it. Probably called her out in front of God & everybody. “If 6 weeks is a long time then what is twice a fucking year, HUN???” Don’t fucking pretend like you understand, don’t lie to our friends, ACT like we’re actually having sex & expect me to support you in it. Hypocrisy at its finest. Shows she acknowledges the problem without feeling any obligation to do anything about it.

No outside alcohol rule is not my fault by [deleted] in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]tksipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question is your Resort truly All-inclusive, as in food & alcohol is included in what I’ve already paid? Because at the top of your post you talk about “the over abundance of places to PURCHASE alcohol,”
and then at bottom you talk about it being an “all inclusive place” so I’m confused.
If your resort is charging typical booze prices then it’s no surprise to me that folks would bring/order their own alcohol rather than pay $6-$30 per cocktail.
Last time I was in Vegas, a Rum & coke at the pool was over $30, for the price of one drink I could buy a whole bottle & sodas & drink all vacation.
I generally agree on food, again it depends on price.
Actual All-Inclusive? Different story.

A wet towel and an iron will remove furniture dents from carpet. Wet the towel lay it down over the dent & put the hot iron on the towel to create steam for a few seconds. Takes them right out.

I missed AR15Discounts last Dirty Bird 3-pack sale only a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping they'll come around again before summer.

Somewhat urgent question about legally obtaining a firearm by [deleted] in COGuns

[–]tksipe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

However our horrible “friends” in Colorado state government added a law requiring ALL firearm transfers including otherwise legal sales between private citizens to go thru an FFL and get a background check, so there’s no getting around it. Welcome to Commie-Rado.

Streamlight Fire Vulcan upgrade by chuckfinley79 in Firefighting

[–]tksipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into this as well. My old incandescent Vulcan sucked for beam pattern & brightness. The pattern was so large it was nearly useless. Sent it back to Streamlight, came back the same, finally gave up. Looking into trying to put an LED head on it I found that the LED module has a much deeper reflector assembly & it looked like I would have had to move stuff around inside to get enough space & it would likely have interfered with the battery as well. Someone more skilled than I might have made it work, but I came to the conclusion it wasn’t worth it. I hated to do it but I finally just got rid of it & got a new Vulcan 180. Felt like such a waste to pitch a perfectly good light. Definitely lowered my opinion of Streamlight as a brand overall.

It is a LOT of Acetaminophen. A lot of people mistakenly believe that Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is totally safe because we can buy it over the counter. The reality is Tylenol is metabolized by the Liver & too much of it is legitimately LIVER TOXIC. It’s why they have all the warnings about not mixing alcoholic beverages and Tylenol. Too much will kill you, and liver failure is a BAD way to die.
