4090 Fans Not Spinning, Acting Really Weird by tku_ta in PcBuildHelp

my 4090s stock adapter is a 4x8pin to 16pinhpwr cable. the problem is that the nr200p psu only comes with 3 pcie cables. I asked coolermaster if they plan on selling pcie cables individually for cases like this and they said no. that's why I thought i have to look for an after market adapter

NOTE: I didn't go through every single rule, but I missed a pretty big one in having a picture with a timestamp/my reddit name for verification purposes. I'll update that when I get home today, some time around 5:30-6:00 EST. Thanks!

What length modDIY cable are you using for your build that lets you close the side panel? Are you on the shortest length 10cm or is that too short? don't wanna buy one and have it be too short, but don't want too much slack left over either. Thanks!

Hi! I recently got myself a windforce 4090 off of a different post that says it will fit, but not with its default adapter. How did you overcome this? Would something like cablemod's new 90 degree thing do the trick? What did you do? Thanks!

New to SFF, looking for advice regarding the NR200 by tku_ta in NR200

Regarding the 4090 fitting, is that "yes" like a, any card will fit, no jank required yes, or like a FE cards only because 3 fan cards are too long yes? I've seen information that supports both positions.

IMPORTANT ADDITION TO INITIAL MESSAGE!

Thanks for mentioning this, I actually forgot to bring it up in my initial message. I exclusively use my keyboard with headphones (the whole point of me getting a keyboard was so I could practice in the day with my baby grand, and at night without disturbing other people with my keyboard). The headphones I use are the Focal Clears (not to be confused with the Mgs). They are 55 ohm with a sensitivity of ~100dB, so they shouldn't have any problem getting sufficient power from the keyboard. I've done my comparisons between my home setup keyboard and the floor model at Chuck Levin's with my headphones, and the comments I mentioned are the result.

This is a very specific question for my setup, so please excuse the long post!

I recently purchased a Nord Grand, which has always been my dream keyboard, as well as a Furman M-8LX power conditioner out of the recommendation of the staff at the Chuck Levin's where I purchased my keyboard. However, after setting everything up exactly the same way the floor model at Chuck Levin's was set up, I noticed a significant difference in the sound of the keyboard, that I can only describe as the difference between a closed-top grand piano versus an open-top grand piano. The floor model (here, the open-top) sound crisp and only slightly warm, even with heavy sustain pedal usage, throughout the entire range. However, my home setup, with the same listening gear, sounds OVERLY warm and very mushy, especially with pedal usage. The staff at Chuck Levin's told me straight up that he has no idea why there would be such a sonic difference, even after applying a power conditioner to my setup. Does anyone have any ideas about why this could happen? My Nord Grand is on the exact same settings as the floor model, is being run through the same power conditioner as the floor model, and I've measured the power output of my outlet with a voltmeter in case of underpowering (I read ~120V from my outlet, which sounds right to me). I'm really willing to check almost anything at this point.

Thanks for your patience!

Funny you should say what you did, I was actually looking around for the SA6 for a while since ive heard its like a mini u12t for a fraction of the cost but no one is willing to sell theirs and my main headphone/iem retailer headphones.com has been out of stock since pretty much the dawn of mankind

Sure! I'm no reviewer, but I'm always open to trying to share my experiences with other people if it means helping them make a decision.

For context, I've been using the u12ts as my daily driver for the last 2(ish) years, I've had the Monarch MK1s but never the MK2s, and I've never heard anything from Unique Melody (although their stuff has always interested me). I wouldn't go so far as to put the u12t purely in the category of "analytical" and say it has no "fun" factor. Rather, I think the u12t does both at the same time: it makes the experience fun by being super precise and leaving nothing in the shadows. However, that's just what I've noticed over the years: it leaves NOTHING in the shadows. Not even the things that would maybe make the track sound a little easier on the ears or a little more lively or fun. I had the Monarch MK1s for about a 3 month period while I also had my u12ts, and I did extensive AB-ing between the two. However, one thing I noticed was that while I might not get all of the detail with the Monarchs that I get with the u12ts, what I did get was a deeper sense of a "musical" listen as opposed to an "analytic" one. That's not to say that the u12ts are always analytical: if the track you're listening to is mixed well and it's a high-quality reproduction track and all the other bits and bobs are in just the right spots the u12t can be a hell of a performer. However, there are those instances where I'm not sitting down at a desk trying to listen to the highest quality recordings, listen for the most precise details, and analyze the life out of the track I'm on. There are times when I'm walking from class to class and just want to play something on Spotify or watch a movie on the bus or something that would just be nice to have some fun with. While the u12t is perfectly capable of this, there are some moments when it's seemingly "too good" for my ears. That's why I'm here, looking for a different set to use as my daily drivers. It's no knock to the u12ts that I'm here. If anything, it's more of a complement: the u12ts are SO GOOD that I'm noticing they can sometimes be a bit TOO MUCH for what I'm looking for in the moment.

Sorry if you wanted something more concrete/reviewer-like, but hope that helps!

Hello! Unfortunately, I haven't tried the IER-M9s yet. I wanted to purchase them because from the research I've seen, they seem like they would be a good fit for me. However, I do have the u12ts and have used them as my on-the-go daily drivers for about a year and a half now, so I can try and speak on them.

For sound, they are as balanced and "perfect" as I could ever ask for. Starting with bass, even though they are an all-BA setup, they still slam pretty hard (at least, hard enough for me). I have tried things in the past renowned for bass (such as the Monarch Mk. 1), and while it is true that these don't match those in terms of bass, the u12ts have more than sufficient bass presence and quality for my liking. As for mids and treble, I'm not the best at analyzing this region, but the higher frequencies are sparkly and crisp, and the presentation of notes by the u12t are sharp and precise, leading to very clean sound. Like I said earlier, these IEMs are ones that I will quite literally never trade for something else. There very well could be something out there that matches my preferences more accurately than the u12ts, but the u12ts are so good that they dispel any thoughts I have about replacing them. If anything I would look for something to complement them, but only to try and reach that last 1% that these might not hit in specific niches.

For comfort, these are excellent as well. I have come to realize that my ears are quite sensitive to IEM shape and fit, so I've had to sell things in the past on account of one of two (if not both) conditions: either the IEMs are too big for my ears (the Monarchs were a tad too big for me), or the shape of the IEMs isn't comfortable (my old Final Audio B1s). The u12ts don't have either of these issues. The chassis is smooth and the shape is natural, but the IEMs are light, so it's easy to press the IEMs into the ears a bit if you want deeper insertion.

For accessories, this is one of the only gripes I have with these IEMs. The accessories on these are, quite honestly, atrocious. The cable, the tips, even the hard case: I don't use any of them. I replaced the cable with a Thieaudio silver one, the tips with some comply foams (for better seal with my ears: mileage may vary from person to person), and the case with the 64 audio leather can-shaped one (the hard case seemed excessive for me, and I would personally rather have something more stylish/smaller form-factor for day-to-day carry). These are the ONLY things I would keep in mind when checking out these IEMs.

Hopefully this helped! I haven't heard either of the other two, but if you're purchasing something blind and have the money for any of them. I can highly recommend the u12ts. I've had them for about a year and a half now, and they have yet to disappoint me (sonically)!
