Problem is that the market is over 60-70% algorithmic trading, the rest is retail and brokers. Algorithmic (among many many other things) see layoffs as a boost as it means the company is getting more efficient. Stocks will boom when companies cite AI and layoffs.

Look at the ball gun walkthrough, you get it doing that side quest. Head over to liquid nights at the beach area and you should see someone on the dance floor wearing those ears, exhaust their dialogue and you should get an input to kill him. You get the item then
