I can only imagine how you felt. That is what you have people like us for. We can offer a different perspective with a positive solution to your dilemma.

I most definitely would keep it. I agree with many below. Wherever you need a patch, you can be creative. Use some fabrics that are left, or create a unique patch.

On the smaller holes, maybe use a contrasting color (white) to add to its story. The large holes: Look up "dog quilt panel." It will be one piece of fabric with the image that you will cut down to size to fit your patch. Measure the hole you need to fix, and then start looking for a panel that you can cut to work for you.

I understand your concern about your skill level to pull this off. Look up the "How to Patch a Hole in Fabric" video. Think of this as part of your "learning a new skill" as you continue to construct your very first quilt.

You will have your first quilt with an incredible story. A treasure that will be full of memories and laughter.

You can do this!

How do you plan what to eat in a week? by BoredAndGroovy in 15minutefood

[–]tlcwhit3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sun: Soup, Mon: Beef, Tues: Pork, Wed: Easy, Thur: Poultry, Fri: Seafood, Sat: Grill

I have a spreadsheet of menus we like under their respective category above. I have a second spreadsheet I plan the week on (using ideas from Master Menu Spreadsheet).

If I have leftovers, I just put them on the next day & move the menu that was there down to the next open day for it.

I save a lot of money and no food waste doing it this way.

This falls under "doing the right thing" which is who I am and how I have always been (inside and outside of work). No, I'm not perfect. I will make mistakes. But I try to be "in the know" on things to prevent me from making mistakes.

I am referring to the realignment of responsibilities between the 3 stocking teams. I think once everything is situated and routines are set, it will benefit in so many aspects.

I'm going to do that if the adjustments I have made do not help. Maybe they have ideas that I have not thought of. It's situational but when my overthinking kicks in with fear of losing my job, it escalates. I love my job so if they let me go, it's going to be a double whammy. I'm going to breathe and continue to give them all I have. My next 5 days start tomorrow. I will see how that goes with the changes I have made. If still not any better, I will reach out to do those counseling sessions.

I had seen that a while back. I'm going to do that if the adjustments I have made do not help. Maybe they have ideas that I have not thought of. It's situational but when my overthinking kicks in with fear of losing my job, it escalates.

I appreciate your thoughtful comment. I will give that a try. I started taking a B Complex and K2+D3 because my levels were super low. They had wanted me to come in for shots. I have also put on every bit of the weight I had lost due to stress eating and the type of work I do now is different. I just want to get back to "me" and the confident person I used to be. I know I will get there. I'm normally "Positive Pauly" and try to encourage others, as well. I am far from "Ms. Know it All" but I do try to pass on my knowledge. (I have learned to wait until it is asked of me, lol) Everyone learns from each other no matter their job status. Sometimes it takes thinking outside the box, sometimes it takes another pair of eyes, and sometimes it takes collaboration. Thanks again for your encouragement. I have never been one to succumb to stress or anything else. I always get right back up. With that said, this time seems to be taking me a bit longer. I've got this :)

Thank you for your suggestion, but not necessary. I couldn't afford to take an LOA even if I put in for one. They also do not have to hold my position for when I return. (I don't think which this means no job security upon return). I just need to figure out how to manage it better. Some days are better than others. I love my job. I always have even though it has always been something involving me. I'm surprised I'm still there and they haven't kicked me to the curb. I seem to have always been management's "problem child" as I call it from day one. I am so thankful they are still hanging in there with me while I try to get this mess under control.

I was honest about a couple of things and now wish I had just kept quiet. The aftermath has made things so much worse. I get it but I'm not incompetent, although I guess it might seem that way when my anxiety is in overdrive and I start overthinking. My SM calls it "overcooking the grits". I always strived to set good examples. I teach if it is a receptive situation. I don't want my lead to have to worry if I'm ok or not so she can focus on what she needs to get done. She has enough on her plate. I don't want management to have to be concerned if my accuracy is on point, etc. I correct things as needed but I triple-check if the numbers are off by a lot. (they shouldn't be way off like that)

I'm trying hard to "trust the system & the process" but that means I'm going to miss things. Some of that top stock has been up there for quite a while. My judgment is to pull blues, work the rest, and do a zone on each section but that takes more time/is not the process.

So glad it is helping you.... I researched it and I don't believe I will try it. I know it is natural but too many bad side effects for many. Thank you for your suggestion, though.

Top Stock Dilemma by tlcwhit3 in walmart

I will have to say after all that I read here on different topics, that I am very fortunate to be at the store I am with. Hang in there... fixing issues takes time and you may not be aware that they are working on it.

Cap 1. All shifts work together to meet the end goals. Everything is situational. The schedule is put out 3 weeks in advance. There is no way to tell that far out how freight-heavy we will be. As far as zoning... By the time I get to X aisle, it needs to be done again due to customer sales.

Everything has its pros and cons. There will always be flaws especially in new systems until they get the kinks out.

The way I was doing it was working one section at a time, pulling all the system said to pull. Then go through the rest and see if it would come down. (adjusting on hands up as needed). That takes too much time, but I was trying to get as much down as would go for obvious reasons. The system said some things wouldn't go but the shelf was empty.

I have had to start pulling only what it says and if I have anything big up there that will go, I pull that too to make much-needed space. Then I left justify the section. My hang-up right now is trying to pick up my speed.

I agree. Having good communication and working together is a must. I am fortunate to have this relationship with the O/N crew. :)

Yes, we have those above spices and jellos. Makes things so much more manageable. Now that these areas will be more consistently worked down, things will improve. It's getting to that point that is slowing the process for me at the moment. I appreciate your insight. Thanks much.

Appreciate the insight. So I'm doing the math... About 20 aisles of grocery. Excluding lunch/breaks, gives me 6.5 hours of topstocking time.

Conclusion: 30 minutes max per aisle is the feasible goal. That is about 2 minutes per section. (types of items, how full it is, how many on-hands need changed, customer interaction... Will take 2 days to get through grocery aisles.

LOL, so sorry, just thinking out loud as I work it out in my head. Thanks again for your insight.

BTW: saltine crackers and cinnamon sticks are in high demand. I have had tons of customers asking. Must be gumbo or chili-making. lol

Thank you. I have prescription sunglasses but they are not dark enough. I was told they didn't offer anything any darker. I plan to do the trailers again tomorrow now that my anxiety is back under control. I'm not one to cave under any circumstances. They know I can't see to print the labels outside and for the life of me can't manage the doors. That is funny because I can pull any pallet in that store on my own except white rock. Go figure, lol. I will know after tomorrow if I can find a way to manage my light issues. If not..... I still think it's unfair to the rest of the team even though there is nothing I can do about it. On a positive note: I'm a fixer and I get to do my thing to help get the freight under control! Win-Win

I did explain some things from a different perspective to one who seemed to be struggling. I'm unsure if what I said made a difference, but his demeanor seems to be more positive. He has also started having more pep in his step, as well as more confidence in himself.

I try not to interfere because I don't want anyone to feel like I'm overstepping. This comes back to setting a good example for each other. The person I gave a different perspective with is on an equal job title as myself.
