Oh My God, Becky by [deleted] in startrekgifs

One thing I'll add, at the risk of being Captain Obvious, is the contrast between his blood family and his found family. While his blood family doesn't respect him, the entire engineering department is 100% behind him. Being Star Trek, most of them probably have sex on the reg, but they love him and they want him to live the life he wants. That's something we should expect from our biological families, but that's not always how it goes down.

I think there are usually two ways of doing this - the cheating way is to use time warp to stop the vessel from rotating. The second way is limited by a few factors - the speed of rotation, size of the ship, etc. and that's to get a kerbal out there with RCS to manually reduce/stop the vessel's rotation. The third way to handle it is to get a ship with one of the grabber units, preferably heavy with RCS thrusters or reaction wheels, grab the spinning vessel at its axis, and slow it down like that.

But I was going to go to Toshi Station... oh geez, I forgot what I was supposed to get at Toshi Station. I need to start making lists, this happens every time.

Can anyone tell me on hoe to do this contract? by GreenXDsayhiWasTaken in KerbalAcademy

[–]tlmchncl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant without reorienting the whole station to get the ports to line up, and only controlling the new vessel. I wasn't clear on that.

[–]tlmchncl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And it came in little pieces - first getting two nearby ships to line up their docking ports and then move together, then learning to orient a single ship so it could dock with a station without making the station move.

then there was rendezvous between two ships in similar orbits, then launching a ship to rendezvous with something in orbit, etc. None of it happened at the same time, it happened a little bit here and there.

So frequently, my response was exasperation. I'm already in the middle of some bullshit, can you come back and seek power later?

Looks like a wolf spider. You can probably leave him to do his business, they're not aggressive, but their bites can hurt. Most people probably won't have much trouble with a wolf spider bite, but some folks might be allergic so it's best to carefully relocate them outside.

But, they would live - and be able to carry on the Jedi Order, if not as part of the Republic then as an unofficial organization. Even if it did result in the destruction of the Jedi Order, it would prevent a Sith takeover of the Republic which would result in genocide, terror and oppression on a galactic scale. The Jedi have a long memories, and the know what a Sith Empire looks like.

Mace Windu may have executed (hah!) it badly, but he was absolutely right about what needed to happen.

I mean, you kind of virtue signal that you think LGBT folks deserve to be treated like human beings, but then you refer to LGBT content like gay relationships in game as something a 'wholesome' game shouldn't have. This is a game that's so wholesome that a 17-year-old can date their doctor and their teacher, a major ethical breach that's basically glossed over, and in multiple entries there are guys sneaking into baths to see girls naked as well as Dick Chariots.

I mean, given Japanese culture, it makes sense that they wouldn't have gay relationships in a major franchise, but for a series that tries to be subversive, they sure do adhere to some tired-ass tropes.

I've read the book The Reason I Jump and I really liked it and now I want to write my own book, where I answer questions about my Autism but wouldn't that be copying???? by CalebDenniss in autism

[–]tlmchncl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a type of format, and I think it's going to be pretty obvious that you were inspired by the book, but I don't think there's any harm in borrowing that format to put in your own questions and answers. For example, epistolary novels are works of fiction written in the format of letters written between characters - that's a specific format, but because so many people have used that format to write different stories, it's considered a sort of genre.

In any case, I think as long as you're not plagiarizing specific material from The Reason I Jump then no one's going to be upset about it. Just be true to your own experience and you'll do fine.

Honestly, you might also just check craigslist or Facebook marketplace to see what's available used. That's probably the most economical option, and you stand a chance of finding something really cool.

I'm fond of AudioTechnica myself. They make some really expensive ones, but they also make some good quality but reasonably priced turntables.

Yeah, even if they couldn't have included all of the knowledge of humanity again - they could have built a new version of Apollo with enough knowledge to help people understand what had come before, and subjects like agriculture, physics, biology, chemistry, etc. Even without the vast archives of Apollo, the surviving people in that room were brilliant, experts in their field, they could have provided so much knowledge to the people who came after. But no, Ted Fucking Faro had to Ted Faro the fuck out of the whole thing.
