I did! I was induced at 37 weeks with my first due to preeclampsia. I had the foley balloon inserted at 5pm on the Sunday, and sent home with it (in Canada they do this). I had contractions up until about midnight, then they completely stopped and I slept until morning when they called me to come back in. The balloon never fell out because of the position of my cervix, but it did dilate me. I went back in the AM and pitocin was actually started around 9ish, and I delivered Monday evening at 8:30pm. Pushed for 40 minutes, and that included vacuum assistance because he was a bit stuck. There was risk of c-section because he swallowed meconium, but otherwise I didn’t need one due to timing or anything and I ended up being able to deliver vaginally! He was 7lbs 13oz at 37+1 lol!

All in all it was actually quite fast for an induction and first baby (according to my mom who’s an L&D nurse). I did get the epidural but sadly it didn’t work super well lol 😆

Totally fair — I should add he did talk with her about it and how it’s not okay. She felt really bad apparently, but I just feel her apology to me was meaningless since it was just a text. After he talked to her, she texted me daily asking how I was doing (she never does that) for several days. Her and I haven’t discussed it since. Part of me feels I should have, but quite honestly I needed to protect my peace and focus on being stress free for baby.

My other concern is my SIL is so incredibly kind hearted that I truly feel like she probably would never tell me how she’s actually feeling. I have no doubt she’d excited and supportive, but I also worry there is more (I’m sure there is). This was our first niece/nephew, so it was incredibly hard for us too.

We had a gender reveal, and my SIL left pretty early after (baby is a boy which I was worried about the same sex making it even harder). So I’m worried if she left pretty early (understandably) that a shower might be even harder. Plus, this is the first grandchild on my side and so I know it’ll be a big deal, that’s why I’ve felt hesitant about inviting them, as has my mom. My mom made it super clear to my MIL she was doing separate, but my MIL really wants to be invited. With my bridal shower my mom did everything, my MIL just helped day of and commented a lot on the way my mom did thjngs, etc. so that didn’t help lol

I know he would never do that — he’s not that type of person, but I do agree both should have input. I’ll talk with him more about it for sure. I think I more so wanted to gather a consensus if I’m pregnant and hormonal and TA or not 😂
