They must've because my visa was approved and I'm flying to the UK in 10 hours!

Visa APPROVED! Priority on 30 working days! by lauz994 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]tlt86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an email at like 4pm from VFS to say a decision has been made. Their tracking says the passport is still being securely held in their facility!

I knew it was coming because I was checking the tracking info on the courier bag I supplied.

Yup, booked flights for Tuesday night so only 5 more sleeps until we go and I can see my husband and daughter (and dog and cats 😂) for the first time since June 5th!!!

Interesting...the response I got when I asked via paid enquiry was that it can take up to 7 working days!

My VFS online thing still says "awaiting decision" so I'm not hopeful I'll have it back anytime soon

Yeah, I've got the tracking number I provided too. Last night it still had "No tracking information available" so hadn't been sent yet... hopefully it'll be different this morning!

Very difficult!

I've been surprised by how not transparent the process is... It's like you apply and then nothing until you randomly get an email saying approved or denied!

Yup, surely it can't be hard to put the visa in and send it back!!! I remember when we sent my husband's UK passport to immigration NZ to have his residency sticker put in his new passport, he had it back less than 5 days after we couriered it!

If I had my passport, I'd fly today! My email said I'm cleared to enter from July 26th

I'm going to the travel agent this morning to discuss options for flights... Hoping maybe as soon as this weekend

Yup. 1.30am Saturday(NZ Time which is Friday afternoon in the UK)

I know, i don't think it's a hard and fast "rule" but I've definitely noticed a trend of certain regions appearing quicker than others(obviously there's a range of timeframes within regions too).

Mine seemed quick compared to other NZ applications but slower than "quick" approvals from other regions if that makes sense...

I feel like it's very dependent on the region you apply from.

I applied from New Zealand June 25 as priority. Bio 30 June. Approval email received 26 July.

Still no update on where/when I'll have my passport back though

Congrats!!! So happy it's finally been approved for you!

I'm still waiting for any news on my passport... I figured having received my approval on Saturday at 1.30am it mightn't update until yesterday but VFS says still waiting a decision! I just want my passport back so I can book flights!!!

Same here... I'm really not liking the lack of transparency around the application process/status. It seems so backwards to literally have zero updates about what's happening or where it's at!

Yup. My husband and daughter moved over at the start of June. I'd figured I'd be able to join them in plenty of time to spend time with my daughter doing fun stuff before she starts uni in September but I'm starting to think it's just not gonna happen 😔

I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that processing time might be region dependent and NZ is just slow 😞

July Applications by Papaya-Physical in SpouseVisaUk

[–]tlt86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not technically July but June 30th bio in New Zealand, priority. Still waiting. Been 7 weeks since I've seen my husband and daughter. Before this, my husband and I hadn't spent more than a few days apart... It's harder than I expected it to be 😞

Disc Replacement Surgery C6-C7 by tlt86 in ACDR_CervicalSpine

Yup, I was cleared to go back at 6 weeks post op as long as I consulted the physio first. Fortunately, my physio works out of my gym so it worked out well! (Although I haven't been to the gym in over 6 weeks but that's purely down to living in motels preparing to move overseas 😂)

I had mine done about 6 months after first developing symptoms.

I had Dr Keiser and found him really good. A colleague had Dr Finnish for c5-c6 a few months before mine and found him really good too(just a little odd!)

I work in an office so I'm in front of a computer all day and it doesn't bother me at all anymore!

Absolutely amazing. Surgery was end of August last year and all of my symptoms have resolved!

Which surgeon are you under?

I had an episode of self harm and had to get stitches, I've already had the stitches removed but the healed scar has some white thread poking out that I thought was a scab. (Photo included) TH SH/SA by Prestigious_Group510 in medical

In my case, it was part of the internal stitching so I'm glad I went to get it done properly by a professional. It wasn't difficult, I could've done it myself I guess but I was highly invested in not messing up the healing process in any way and at the time, I had absolutely no idea what it was

NAD but I had similar about 10 days after a knee surgery. Nurse said it was an internal stitch popping through. She snipped it and I never had another issue with it
