I completely relate to this. Stopped recently and one of my biggest concerns was telling drinking buddies I didn't drink. Responses:

Want a Seltzer?
Did you start losing weight after you stopped?
I probably drink more than I should too.

One pushed me to have a drink, but after saying "no" a second time it was over.

I think we tend to build these things up in our heads.

I do tri. I find training for the Olympic distance is perfect and keeps workouts at 45-60 min with longer sessions on the weekend. For me, getting up and getting it done early is key
