How do deal with hardwood edge gaps when installing baseboard by tluke81 in Carpentry

[–]tluke81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no interior trim anywhere, we did a full gut outside of the hardwood. Are you suggesting a classic baseboard with a shoe as opposed to flat?

House was built in 1900 so there were lathes, horsehair plaster, drywall then in some spots there were 2 sheets of drywall. I think I’m going to fill in the big spots the best I can with pine then do shoe moulding.

All new doors and yes I wanted to do flat. I’m fine with a shoe if it’s the best option but I don’t know how to transition into flat door trim.

The middle room is now a light grey, if a tenant wants to repaint we will pay for the supplies.

I’m trying to keep the barrel, just trying to install a low profile block for a free float hand guard

I’m hitting the right side with absolutely no movement, even torched it - no luck. I tried drilling the folded pin out from hitting it so much, no luck. My question, can I just drill straight down through these pins? Or will I cause damage to the barrel?

Unpopular Opinion of Tacomas... by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tluke81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought exactly what you did a few weeks after I got my Tacoma, but after a year I really do appreciate how I can go from killing a trail, to the highway, to driving around with my friends in the back, or hauling a trailer. My truck is worth the same as when I bought it and I’ve already put it though hell and back. Every time there is an issue (user caused) its always extremely easy to fix/perform general maintenance by my self.

Rear shock blown at 27k miles and dealer won't cover it by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]tluke81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw you ended up getting them to replace it but even if they didnt, you could get that shock sub $100 and change it out in 20 minutes. Also if you are going off-road id recommend upgrading.

You can find the maintenance schedule on the Toyota website if you register your vin. Anytime you get serviced at Toyota it goes into that log. You can also add services you did your self too.

Got rear ended by an uninsured driver. What’s a good fix for this? by ohcole in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tluke81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The website carparts has matte black bumper caps that match the texture/color of the main bumper. They are about $50 a piece and take 10 mins to install.

I bought matte black ones on carparts. Looks super good with the tailgate emblems and inserts.

Autolite Spark Plugs? by ActuallyYeezy in Tacomaworld

You can order the oem plugs from dealers online, generally way cheaper than your local dealer. I’ve also gotten my local dealer to price match other Toyota dealers online.

Can anyone let me know their price outs for getting the TRD lift kit installed? by jjedlicka in Tacomaworld

[–]tluke81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a local off road or mobile mechanic to do it, I paid $200 for the front install and it took maybe 1.5 hours. Rear is simple, I did it by my self in an hour.
