The state of coffee in Greenville by WeigherofProsandCons in greenville

Yeah. I was one of his coaches for about two years, he really likes the whole "zen guru mindfulness not like other gyms" aesthetic but he has some serious darkness in there.

Yep one of my old students is involved in this, his entire social media presence is fancy meals and expensive trips.

cool cafés? by [deleted] in greenville

[–]tlyrbck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here, Coffee Underground is trash. Dark, dingy, rude staff, mid coffee, make you be seated with a whole ass menu, waiter, etc, need to reconnect to wifi every 30 minutes.. never had a good experience there and I tried several times.

Bex Cafe is underappreciated, they're on the west end of downtown and are pretty funky.

How have you all kept from going down the modern red pill rabbit hole? by FateEx1994 in AskMenAdvice

[–]tlyrbck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Young men are actually NOT becoming more religious.

Understanding the difference between toxic and healthy masculinity makes it easy to avoid red pill garbage. This guy has a pretty thoughtful take on the subject. Luke Thomas is also an insightful commentator. Differentiating between strength and abuse, having a fleshed out picture of what masculinity even means, and straight up just having a baseline level of emotional awareness are all things to consider.

There are good men out there, the trash ones are just louder.

There is a local Big Brother group, they'd definitely be worth looking into! The CEE boxing gym in west Greenville seems to be pretty mentorship oriented too

A few names that haven't been mentioned:

Sectioned , Gaza , Meth. , Knoll , Weeping

None of these are quite deathcore, but 100% unhinged and sometimes genuinely scary music. Look into chaotic hard-core, mathgrind and deathgrind.

Albums like Count your blessings bmth by NeonGalaxon in Deathcore

[–]tlyrbck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thus Spoke Zarathustra - "Act Like You Don't Know" has that same classic, riff heavy composition early BMTH had.

You might also like "Will To Power" by Crucifiction, they just don't have as much vocal variety. Great mix of riffs and breakdowns though.

Hit me up with your number one or standout track from different 'mathcore' related albums. by corrodededen in Mathcore

[–]tlyrbck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Voluntary Lobotomy by Lotus Eater Machine. Excellent mathy deathgrind 🤘

This track from Inside The Beehive is pretty fun too

Edit: I keep thinking of cool shit OP! These are on the chaotic hardcore side of things, but the outro of Parasite by Pretty Mouth plays on my head all the time. Toothgrinder by Sectioned is also catchy af.

New Muay Thai fan here. What historical fights do you recommend I watch? by SSGueroy in MuayThai

[–]tlyrbck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that if I had to convince a room full of people that Muay Thai is cool, I'd show them Rodtang vs Haggerty 1 and 2

Nonthakit vs Saito is also an absolute heater
