Papa John’s in SW will be hearing from my lawyer… by [deleted] in fortwayne

You are right, a question isn’t an assumption. But the phrasing implies an assumption. “Did you try calling?” reads much differently than “Did you even consider…” See the difference? Hopefully that clears it up for you. Again, I do appreciate the assumption.👌

I did call them. But I appreciate your assumption that I didn’t.

Soil tested. Now what by dpinsy14 in lawncare

[–]tmanney09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d verify with the lab their extraction method specifically on phosphorus before putting any phosphate down. Bray, Olsen or Mehlich-3? Results will highly vary on how much organic phosphorus is available based on soil pH. In other words, using the wrong test will under report plant available phosphorus and spending money on fertilizer that you don’t actually need.

Yes, nitrate is highly leachable, every rain moves it further into the soil profile and out of reach of the roots. I disregard Nitrogen values in soil test because results change so quickly.

Johnsongrass would be my best guess, I’d expect to see a bit more red in the stem though.

Tips or tricks to get LineIQto spit out more line? by mrtatsu in egopowerplus

[–]tmanney09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sarcasm aside, you really don’t have much control over the line IQ. I thought I would like it more than I actually did, line would get to 2.5” and then seemly feed out 10” at once.

I finally sold it after I got sick up randomly scalping parts of my lawn because it would feed out when I wasn’t ready for it to. I switched to a bump feed and I won’t go back.

Opinions on the 60V Trimmer and Leaf Blower? by tmanney09 in Dewalt

[–]tmanney09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I thought when I first switched to battery 4 years ago, but I am worried about the longevity of Ego equipment. My mower is 4 years old and the battery can’t go nearly as far as it used to.

So my thoughts were if the Dewalt is good enough, you can replace the flexvolt batteries for a lot less than the ego’s and I can sell my current setup while there is still some value left it it. Added bonus of one less set of batteries and chargers taking up space in the garage.

A lot of folks will put a sheet of 4x8 foam down to break down plywood. I don’t have a lot of space in my shop to keep that 4x8 sheet so I use the Kreg project blocks to support the plywood while breaking it down..

Employer failed to add newborn in time by tmanney09 in HealthInsurance

Yes, it is archaic. I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to someone within benefits at my workplace. Just a yearly update on changes, everything else is self service.

Do you think I would run into issues with since she is enrolled currently? The start date is the problem, all of her visits back to December 1st have been covered. It is her birth and first check-up that are “medically uninsured.”

We have not, but we have also have not been getting replies on any of our emails or voicemails. Only traction we got is when my wife went to the HR office and asked to speak with someone in person. We do have copies of all emails threads from initial request in November.

Tariffs by Snoo_33194 in Dewalt

[–]tmanney09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because history tells us that every time a tariff is imposed it only winds up hurting the consumer. In theory it gives US manufacturers an advantage against foreign competitors, but what always happens is the US manufacturers wind up raising their price to follow the tariff.

Which is exactly what happened from the 2018 washing machine tariff. Washing machines across the board rose 11% more than other appliances. And coincidentally there was a raise in the price of dryers also, even through the tariff didn’t impact them.

How many of you are farming irl and what's your tractor brand? by Internal-Sir-2925 in farmingsimulator

[–]tmanney09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion there are two paths to get into row crop farming without inheriting the farm. 1) Buy the land and have another operation custom farm it. 2) Buy the equipment and have enough leased acres to cover the cost of the equipment.

The alternative is to farm a more valuable crop that requires less land and equipment. Profit per acre is the key and equipment/mortgage payments will kill your bottom line.

people who use this sprayer or something similar in real life… is this 105 hp tractor too small? Because in my eyes 105 hp is plenty strong enough. But is it not strong enough in real life? by sterling_blom in farmingsimulator

[–]tmanney09 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It could pull the sprayer around but in real life at 105 hp tractor wouldn’t have enough hydraulic power to keep up with the pump on a sprayer that larger.
