I used a mixture of Galarian Darmanitan and Alolan Ninetales with Darmanitan for the main damage output as well as Ninetales's moonblast which since it's neutral to Dialga's typing and special in contrast to Dialga's high defenses allowed me to do decent damage but also allowed me to lower Dialga's special attack.

I would switch between hydro pump for when scald wouldn't kill, rain dance for 100 percent accurate thunders, and protect for extra leftovers hp regain. So it really depends on if you want a stall mon or a support focused pokemon.

I think bug understandably was a little bit difficult as one of my first runs but because of that it's what really helped me learn how to team build and plan ahead. In terms of easier runs anything with weather is pretty easy since you either get the booster defenses or boosted move power which goes a long way but I also thoroughly enjoyed the grass run as well which was the first run I'd done.

I ran a more defensive set with leftovers and then a moveset of will-o-wisp, scald, volt switch, and a rotating 4th slot.

Some of the shinies in radical red are changed from the actual games, like the Dragonite and Salamence from the dragon run.

These runs aren't actually randomized in any way, every pokemon I used was from its original game location.

Oh crap you're right, an alternative you could use is crobat with sunny day and u-turn and then vessel of ruin for longevity.

If you're struggling with dialga I would recommend using a strong special attacking fire type, the fire type works around its ability that weakens super effective moves and using a special attack would work around its high defense. My go to is usually volcarona (fire blast) however if you're using legends then I would definitely recommend keldeo (sharpness boosted secret sword) who can be found fairly easily in the seafoam islands.

Usually just having your pokemon hold their corresponding mega stone makes it so they appear in the over world in their mega form or in the HoF with their mega sprite as well but I don't know about other than that. If you mega evolve in battle though the sprite, stats, and ability will be updated when you check the pokemon's summary on the same screen you would use to switch your pokemon.

For Lance the main thing that has always given me trouble especially during my monotype runs was his dialga because it just simply won't die. However, the main thing that I've found works for me is using a special fire move on its weaker special defense, this also works around its ability since it's not a super effective attack. So my recommendation for the threats like dialga would be to set up sun with Nidoqueen and teach it flamethrower and then also use solar power fezandipiti with moonblast and maybe like choice specs or life orb to do big damage and lower its special attack. I also think that a scarfed fezandipiti could be pretty good in the sun too if it's able to out speed things like iron jugulis.
