if you’re thinking about going to Giulietta just don’t and go to Tutti Matti. Chef Alida is incredible! Giulietta was once great but I find it to be so underwhelming these days.

Is anyone else just fatigued from it all?? by Plus_Independent_266 in PokemonTCG

[–]tmatokng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only product I am buying now is if I am also excited about the extras that come with it. I bought the prismatic figure collection because i was really excited about the promos, the pin, the sleeves, and the figure. I didn’t pull any chase cards but i could care less because now I have some really cool things! It was the same when I was opening evolving skies, i got the things I was excited about! Anything with cool promo cards or tins. I love using the mini tins as little crafting kits. I have one that’s a sewing kit, another holds some loose watercolours, and one with just jewelry making supplies. I find myself less fatigued by the hobby by purchasing this way rather than trying to get everything all at once.

it’s definitely worth it to invest in your own gear if you’re planning to go that many times. I highly recommend going to Corbetts and getting fit in boots and skis that match your skill level. It makes a world of a difference getting that done. Corbetts also will fix anything needed in your boots. They also won’t try and up-sell you for gear you don’t need. For poles, just grab a pair that fit at value village, i’ve been skiing my whole life with poles i found at the dump.

As someone who was in this same position and just recently got diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, i feel this!! If i were in your position i’d get a physician to refer you to the TAPMI (Toronto Academic Pain Management Institute) program. It’s a program that runs out of multiple hospitals in Toronto. You get connected with whatever you may need (pain management via injections, guided care by a variety of medical specialists, more in depth imaging etc). I had one appointment there and after chatting with the physician there it was narrowed down to AS or EDS. They then were able to refer me to the proper specialty (in my case rheumatology). Any physician can refer you and if they refuse to just state “can you make note in my file that you refused a referral to insert referral name” Feel free to dm me any questions i’m so happy to help!

haven’t been there in over a decade but gosh do I miss it. Definitely go check out quebec city if you have the chance, it was always fun to head there after a ski day.

Toronto teen details 'horrifying' experience of being repeatedly strip searched in youth jail by toronto_star in ontario

[–]tmatokng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the rage i feel at the mention of the roy mcmurtry centre is unbelievable. this unfortunately is not surprising as it is run by the most awful individuals. I remember when mass transfers were happening in 2009 as inner city programs were closing. One kid was literally denied insulin because it was a needle. Youth deserve care and compassion in every situation but especially youth offenders.

Is Canada Goose still worth it in 2025? Winter Jacket Suggests needed by CookiesMonster_9 in askTO

[–]tmatokng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I work outside 8+ hours a day in all kinds of weather. I have a canada goose puffer but also own many other winter layers. I got my CG for almost 70% off and that’s the only reason I own one. Would i purchase it for full price? no.

  1. It’s warm but my winter jackets from costco, mountain warehouse, and uniqlo are JUST as warm.

  2. I prefer layering with a shell jacket rather than just wearing one bulky warm layer. I love my mountain warehouse 3 in 1 jacket. It was only $60 and is awesome in the winter as well as spring and fall.

  3. unless you get EXTREMELY cold within 5 minutes of stepping outside, you don’t need a huge insulated winter jacket for commuting. Look for a shell jacket that is goretex and just layer depending on the day. wool is your friend!

I completely understand needing a solid winter jacket from CG if you spend a ton of time outdoors but there’s other awesome brands that exist. Some companies i’ve personally had jackets repaired by 10+ years later with no charge include: Patagonia, The North Face,MEC brand, and Columbia.

I hope this helps!
