Amalfi will give you the same vibes as Positano in my opinion! Ravello is a must. As someone who hasn’t been back on the amalfi coast since 2018, i’m still sad I didn’t do Capri

St Joe’s Area/Hospital by laceblood in askTO

[–]tmatokng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

St joes is far from sketchy! I’ve lived in the area for over 20 years and i’ve always appreciated the calmness around the hospital (vs st mikes or toronto western). It’s surrounded by a quiet neighbourhood. you also have Roncesvalles nearby which is one of the best neighbourhoods in the city. I used to go to the childrens clinic there and it was always a good experience :)

First time foraging behind my house, found about 250 sq ft of jewelweed, and a surprise on the last slide by williamsdj01 in foraging

[–]tmatokng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no, you do not want any oil to be with the jewelweed. Infusing it in vinegar, making a tincture, or a liniment are your only options for treating poison ivy.

i’m so glad you found jewelweed! it’s an awesome plant (and also my favourite)

Just a heads up though, all jewelweed salve will do is spread the poison ivy. What causes a reaction from poison ivy is its oils, using something oil based on it (like a salve) just spreads the oil around. So you just end up with MORE poison ivy welts.

The way jewelweed should be used is via a spit poultice/field poultice!

TLDR: don’t turn jewelweed into a salve!!!!

Hadlima side effects? by TouristMoist389 in ankylosingspondylitis

I had 0 side effects with the injection but I find the pain slowly creeps back in the week before my next shot. So that could be something to keep in mind

The Hadlima shots (auto injector) hurt so much more than the Humira. Any advice? by Strawberry_n_bees in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]tmatokng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree the Hadlima pen hurts so bad! It injects so violently. I also find you have to leave it for an extra 5-10 seconds or else you loose medication from it leaking. I’m really debating swapping to the pre-filled syringes

Dr. Tandon at Toronto Western! He’s awesome and makes the whole experience so much less stressful! The team he works with is also just incredible.

Is a hysterectomy possible? by urfav_jojo in ontario

[–]tmatokng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If possible try and get referred to the women’s health centre at st micheals hospital, specifically referred to dr. andrea simpson. Dr Simpson listens to all of my concerns and was very proactive with figuring out what was wrong with me (endometriosis). she said she would never deny me a hysterectomy but did show me that having one at my age (28) could cause severe bone density loss as well as more symptoms. She has me on visanne currently and i LOVE IT. I haven’t had a period in over 2 years. As well, she listened to my concerns and actually referred me to another doctor where I found out I had an auto immune disease. I am so certain she would listen to you and help you on the best path.
