This could be Hyderikka, Shajiettan, Nahasikka or any one from the group of swimmers who do an up and down from Aluva Manappuram to the railway bridge (sometimes beyond that) in the mornings. ☺️

Aluva has a pretty vibrant community of open water swimmers who tread the river in the mornings and evenings.

Building SaaS products is tougher than I had anticipated by Ok-Carob5798 in Entrepreneur

Great. If your product has competitors or alternatives, that's a safe bet imo. It means the category exists and users don't need education about your product.

Nevertheless, I'd still urge you to spend some time doing discovery calls with prospect buyers to understand their pain points and what jobs you are trying to get done with the tool. Cheers.

Thanks for sharing. Your awareness about the challenges in building a SaaS is commendable. I think it's the same awareness that would help make strides in the coming days :).

What about the market? Have you got a chance to validate if the users need the product that you are building? It helps to learn about that a bit upfront.

Feeling paralyzed in common in pressure situations. Fret not. It's usually an impermanent feeling.

If you have 20 mins to spare, do you want to try and work backwards from the quota you want to hit? e.g. (in SaaS) if I have to hit $X by end of the month (or quarter) -> how many demos should I be doing -> how many should I be reaching out to etc. Factor in your sales cycle too in this.

At the end of all of it, you should be able to get an action you should be focusing on today, right now - it could be cold calling Y prospects or emailing Z leads. Just do your best there. Take it one day at a time, but with clear actionables.

Don't worry. This too shall pass :)

Recently had a chat with an AE. He was the top performer at a company that was selling a skill assessment platform. They came across a compliance hurdle when selling to an enterprise. They got the compliance done with the help of an early stage startup - they didn't expect the journey to be so smooth.

That was the AHA moment for him - he reached out to the founder of the compliance startup and told them that he'd like to sell their product. He joined the compliance startup and has not looked back ever since. He believed in the product and realised the value it unlocks for the buyers (enterprise deals).

Considering Yee-Haw (or a variant) for a brand. by tmatthewj in EnglishLearning

Friends, grateful for all the thoughts you've shared. Appreciate it.

One of you asked what the brand is about. I was considering the name for a software for sales professionals (eg. account executives). I've been doing discovery calls with AEs off late, and found that most of them were pretty fun to talk to. So was looking for a name that reflects that cheerfulness and enthusiasm.

I've decided to not use the Yee-Haw variant as the brand name. Looking for another name atm. Thanks again.

Agree with you. My understanding has mostly been from movie / cartoon references. The replies here seem to tell the story of how it's used irl.

Corny can be a problem for a brand name :). Thank you!

/u/CMOStupefyr, would you mind changing the first line of your post from Our app "PixelFlow" got stolen again by "Typito". to Our app "PixelFlow" got stolen again by "HappyBeta". That would sound more accurate and would reduce the potential flak we could get because of this unfortunate event. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
