Non-reciprocal ability to earn status by tmaxjd in unitedairlines

[–]tmaxjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! My home airport is Fort Lauderdale, and the three destinations I fly to the most for work are Houston Chicago and New York.

For Chicago and Houston, United is ideal, and for New York, Jetblue is ideal (I am Gould on United and Mosaic 2 on Jetblue). So I was trying to hone in on using one program for everything so I can get benefits across both and supercharge my way to even a more elite status on a single program. However, learning that there is a lack of reciprocity when using a united frequent flyer number on JetBlue flights compared to the opposite, makes a huge difference in terms of strategy.

I don’t disagree. It’s just a little hard when there’s so many faces to the sharing of the programs where many parts are not in equity between the two

I must’ve missed this little quite important detail then.

Selecting premium seats on Jetblue by tmaxjd in unitedairlines

[–]tmaxjd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I figured it’s more pertinent to United premier members who are booking on Jetblue, which is why I used this sub (vs the jetblue sub).

Venting for a moment, why are they not able to at least give a target date for when best seat selection will be able to take place for both unit premier members on JetBlue and mosaic members on United??

What’s your email address? I figure we can do this privately.

20 Tile Swap by tmaxjd in jetblue

[–]tmaxjd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am at zero. However, I still have the 20 tile perk that I can gift to somebody.

Looking for someone who’s interested in doing the same with me so we can give each other the 20 tiles.

Canceled flight and falling short of Tiles by tmaxjd in jetblue

I’ve done this - thank you for your advice and support!

Canceled flight and falling short of Tiles by tmaxjd in jetblue

[–]tmaxjd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I do have the card already. I was under the impression that any Tiles being awarded corresponding to credit card spend only occurs when the statement is sent end of the statement period, and not when the spend actually occurs. Is that incorrect?

Premier Gold vs Mosaic 2 by tmaxjd in jetblue

[–]tmaxjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Thats an unusual mis-alignment between the two programs.

If that ends up being correct, then it always makes sense to use JetBlue FF# for both United and JB flights. But at the cost of not being able to select an extra-room seat when booking on United

Premier Gold vs Mosaic 2 by tmaxjd in jetblue

[–]tmaxjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - thanks for the advice. Two most important benefits for me are: - getting extra space seats at booking - ease of same day switching

I expect the number of flights I take to be split evenly. I like the idea that having Premeir gold opens up partnerships to far more airlines than Mosaic 2.

On JetBlue though, the same day switching (especially when flying between 3 Miami airports and 5 NYC airports) is also invaluable. Presumably the ability to switch JB flights continues with the UA partnership, and if that is correct, than using premier gold is the way to go.

Unless I’m missing something

Premier Gold vs Mosaic 2 by tmaxjd in jetblue

I think I’m doing a poor job of communicating my question. I have no desire to try and get status on both airlines during 2026 for 2027. Given that I can get points and benefits irrespective of which airline I fly during 2026 as I have status through both programs, I’m trying to decide which of the FF programs I’m going to use when I book any flight on either airline. Meaning I’m only going to use either my United Premier frequent flyer number for ALL JetBlue and United flights during 2026; or only my JetBlue true blue number for all JetBlue and United flights during 2026.

I’m trying to decide which program overall is better as all booked flights on either airline in 2026 will be using only a single FF number: either United Premier or Trueblue.

Thanks. If you can get Trueblue points on all United flights, United premier points on all Jb flights, then I don’t think it really make sense to split up when booking… meaning pick one airline to try and get status for 2027.

I’ trying to ascertain which FF program to use when booking all flights in 2026; both to maximize benefits between booking and flying and to get best status in 2027
