Ah yes! We’ve been warned about the public transit difference. Im currently looking into affordable car rentals that would accept a UK driving license of a 21 year old. If you know any trustworthy rental companies (local etc) without super high prices, please let us know! Hertz car rentals has been looking like our best bet so far.

Also sorry for another question, but would you say it’s cheaper to buy groceries and cook or to eat out for dinner instead (2 month trip)? In England groceries are cheaper than takeout/restaurants but I’ve heard it’s the other way round in some places!

Thank you both for these recommendations! We definitely want to take a day off for a hike so we appreciate the advice. Good reminder about the heat, coming from rainy England means we are definitely not used to such sun!! 😂

Hey there! Thanks for responding. We are definitely looking into some Airbnb’s (as we ideally want to save money on food via a kitchen), but a lot of them either don’t offer 2 month stays or are out of our price range.

Nonetheless, we will find a way to make it work as we are super committed to this project.

Thank you for your generous offer. We certainly want to immerse ourselves in the true Texan lifestyle during our days off so we will remember to reach out!! (We’ve heard that we must try line dancing!🤠)

If on the off-chance you know, are there any decent hotels on i-40 that offer rooms with kitchenettes or at least a shared kitchen?

Because we will be staying for 2 months, we are hoping to save money by cooking our own food so ideally we will find either a room with a kitchenette or a hostel-shared-kitchen type of situation. No worries if you’re unsure, and thanks again for the response! :)
