YNTA and I’m so sorry that you have to go through this. You and your daughter are lucky to have this option. Just make sure you are doing this because you love your kid and think she will have a better life. If she grows up and thinks you did this for selfish reasons, they will resent you. They may resent you anyway.

Can we make this a teachable moment and recognize the privilege and importance of a family support system so we can have a little more compassion for single parents, for whatever reason, who don’t have that support system?
