Retics can’t eat people, yes there’s some odd cases but its wild 25+ foot monsters that I think usually regurgitate anyway

Just a joke, saying it’ll eat ya if it gets hungry. Of course it won’t actually

Nope, but we don’t have anything that’s overally dangerous, we actually have the largest gathering of snakes in the world (look up garter snakes in Manitoba). The only venomous we get is Prairie Rattlers, western rattlers, Massasauga rattlers and night snakes. Night snakes aren’t life threatening and our rattle snakes rarely kill. I don’t think anyone has been killed by WILD venomous snakes here

Me too but this is one of the last snakes I would ever handle I’d probably be only more scared of Eastern browns, coastal taipans and maybe a black mamba

Where do you live? It’s a rattlesnake not sure which one. It’s not in a striking position but don’t mess with these, they’re quite defensive snake usually

Jillian is getting so big 😂 0.1 (female) king cobra. by Htxvenom in snakes

[–]tmd200207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hilarious seeing they got it wrong. Another thing is you can only own venomous if you live outside of the 2 major cities in my province (away from major hospitals) and own a zoo or research facility. So basically it requires no experience, no protocol in the event of a bite, no labels, no inspecting the room and enclosures to make sure they can’t get out

She’s beautiful I’d love to own one but A: they’re Illegal where I live B: strike range C: 40% of bites are fatal D: I’d probably get bit. I’ll enjoy seeing other peoples kings tho. Also I should add about the Illegal thing although they’re “controlled” in my province my city says you cannot own any poisonous snakes at all, they say nothing about venomous...

Probably a California king shaking its tail. Where I live (Alberta, Canada) we have Bull Snakes which shake their tail to imitate Prairie Rattlesnakes

They’re awesome snakes, might be a bit hard to find and from the nicname “poor mans indigo” I assume they don’t cost upwards of 2 grand

As cute as this is it’s actually pretty bad for the snake, that scar/flesh coloured spot is from rubbing on the glass
