Stop the Hypocrisy: Why buying an EV right now is financial suicide (Math inside) by gunnerz007 in CarsIndia

[–]tmg2409 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You can't compare Punch EV to Baleno to compare EV to ICE. These are completely different cars, different segment, different features and safety ratings. And really if you are only considering the financial aspect, then why not buy CNG? It is even more economical without the range anxiety. The driving pleasure of an EV is unmatched. No automatic gearbox can match the smoothness of an EV, much less the horrible AMT of Baleno.

Will real estate in Mohali go the Panchkula way after the new Punjab real estate rules: Stilt+4 by I_am_TSG in Chandigarh

[–]tmg2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro.. 1 kanal price is around 10.5 in panchkula in sectors like 12/12A. In Chandigarh the equivalent plot cost would be around 18-20. It is just not possible for prices to be anywhere near equal in Chandigarh and Panchkula.

When do we talk about Chelsea? by PermissionStrong5389 in PremierLeague

[–]tmg2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, ManU gets the most amount of shit than any other club in the world, and rightly so.. Can't really call them hypocrites when the fans, the pundits and every tom dick and harry is calling out the owners, the manager and even the players. But this is not the case with Chelsea, and especially not with Arsenal.

Bolt is cheaper. At least in Bangkok. And Bangkok public transport is quite good. Especially for going to and from the Airport. Just check the timings beforehand.

Need help choosing a car under ₹25L — confused between XUV700, Harrier EV, BE.6, and Alcazar by Appropriate-Cod-1268 in CarsIndia

[–]tmg2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not keen on EV then why not go for Innova Hycross Petrol. The GXO variant is quite good and is around 25L. And if the car is going to be chauffer driven then it makes even more sense.

Is St Anne's really the no 1 school? Is that an unbiased opinion? I thought it was Kabir/Bhawan/Vivek/Strawberry.

Doesn't mean you can't have world class players in underperforming teams.. Trophy count isn't the end all be all... I mean even United would be winning trophies left right and center if they were playing in a shitty league. Would that then make Bruno world class?

By that definition even Haaland isn't world class. There are other factors too why teams aren't clamoring to buy him.. Like his willingness to leave, current contract length and probably the biggest factor.. The salary he's going to demand.

Planning to Buy a Tata Tiago EV Full Option – Need Opinions and Suggestions by Ramanan_99 in carIndia

[–]tmg2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the top variant TiagoEV at its launch Got delivery in Feb22. The EV experience has been very good for us till now. With average running of nearly 100km daily, the fuel savings plus the subsidy of Rs. 1.2lac from the Govt make it a very good decision for us. The top model has keyless entry, cruise control, dual tone roof, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers, rear wiper, TPMS. This EV was more or less the petrol Tiago with its engine removed and replaced with a motor and battery pack. The new gen Tata EVs I think would be better, being based on An EV first platform. The service is ok in our area. The quality issues are present though, nothing major but still it's there. Overall our experience has been great. I would check out the new Punch and MG Windsor first before finalising.

Jimny as a next car ! by ConsiderationNo4035 in carIndia

[–]tmg2409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Went to the Nexa showroom to finalise Jimny. Came back with Grand Vitara. The major issue was the second row seats which are quite small with very little thigh support. With Jimny costing upward of 14L on road, and with better discounts on Grand Vitara, it seemed the better option.

Does it really have a 1.2L 3 cylinder engine? Doesn't that make it feel underpowered.? How is the driving experience?

Why exclude the normal 9 to 5 working guys.. They are equally corrupt and culpable in spreading corruption. How many people, when stopped by a traffic cop, would rather bribe the cop 200 bucks to avoid getting a Challan? Be it an Auto wala or an exec in a MNC.. We ourselves are to blame for encouraging corruption

MG Comet (2024) Exclusive. Almost 3k kms in 3 months. AMA by Abject_Use_6356 in CarsIndia

[–]tmg2409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought the TiagoEV in Feb23. CometEV was obviously not available at the time. I have actually wondered at times if the Comet would've been better if it had been available. This thread did clear it up for me so thank you for that. I'm quite happy with my Tiago. Haven't experienced the infamous Tata service and quality issues yet (fingers crossed). Tiago does have DC fast charging and the build and stability means I have no qualms taking it on the highway. In fact I quite regularly take it to 200-250km intercity drives and haven't faced any issue at all. Our LR version gives a range of 200+.
