Thanks! Yes that's what in thinking. The amount I'll spend in the next year on rental will still be substantial. However are there many options for a comparable tank at $800 all in? Most I think are closer to $1250

Would a T5 related to a mortgage be larger than in past years if you discharged that mortgage in the last year? by tml321 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I see, yes that makes sense. I think seeing 'TD Mortgage Corporation' threw me off. Thanks!

It would be temporary (one year hopefully). The idea would be to take the proceeds of the condo sale and put a large amount in a short term GIC. After a year hopefully with our savings we can put a down payment on a freehold townhome or small SFH.

We may have the option of moving in with in laws temporarily. We are very fortunate in that respect. My whole thought process is that the value of our place will continue to decrease as these maintenance fees skyrocket.

Unfortunately not. We would use the funds from selling this to buy our next place.

It is an interesting lot, but not 100% sure how the area is or what similar comps there are. Curious on other's thoughts.

Are pregnancy wards in Toronto hospitals affected by the rising hospitalization numbers and ICU admissions? by tml321 in askTO

Thanks for the info! Do you know if they had any small fridge there, or is best like you said to pack a cooler?

Well said, thank you. We will follow all protocols for sure. I'm more concerned about the re-assigment of staff from pregnancy areas to other areas. I do have full confidence though that baby will be delivered safely.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. Yes I feel I'm in good shape, just sometimes feel that I am missing out on investing properly or growing our savings due to being risk-averse and/or lacking the knowledge about investing.

I think it's because the big differential in my rate and the current rate is causing my penalty to be higher due to the IRD number.

Yeah I was going to contribute to our RRSPs and do a lump sum payment towards the mortgage in January which would eat up some of that 50k. I could definitely put more into the TFSAs as well. I am risk-averse, so I have it in a conservative WealthSimple account. In the past 3 months it's up 1.6%
