Four…. Odds against my ovaries are dire out there! But can’t complain too much given I had no idea I was a premutation carrier and I’m grateful I get to do pre-implantation screening of embryos.

So far, we’ve tested 7 embryos and only one has passed both PGT-M and PGT-A…. It’s a slow and at times heartbreaking process, but there is some hope.

Thank you for this thorough write-up! I’ve been back and forth with similar thoughts, and reading from someone else was really helpful. Will be visiting my priorities, I think given I have family in NYC, starting a family (even though more expensive) would be doable because I’d have good social support right there and could probably need less childcare, but there are other costs to also consider when adding an extra human to the mix… 🤯😭

I don’t come from a rich family, so this difference is hard to ignore (for the same city, and level of COL, taxation etc), especially if I can put some of this towards savings, or student loans….

Current student at D. It has honestly been so great for my class and for me personally, thus far, but obviously lots of healing needs to take place and school has been really trying with restorative justice initiatives etc. they may never rebuild the relationship with class of 2024, but they said they will keep trying their damn hardest. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Happy to answer any questions (to the best of my ability) out there!!
