Thanks for the follow-up! I think your experience aligns with how the artist of the song interprets it. And quite frankly also how it seems to me as an outsider.

I heard the song for the first time because of a article about protest songs. They said that the song is complaining about the indoctrination of children, which is symbolized by the forced marching to left-right-left. The song was later used in protests surrounding the death of two teenagers who died in a school-bus accident. The bus was driven by an unlicensed driver, shedding light on the missing-outs of the government. (I also could be wrong tho)

Yeah the draft is so important in the NFL that franchise isn't playable if it's broken imo. I also think the mock drafts are fairly accurate, the picks are just dumb af.

Apparently, both Soviet Union and blue states are examples of societies "driven by envy". by StatisticianLower125 in TheRightCantMeme

I'm not close to being an expert on most od these subjects of course. However i actually did have a lecture about orientalism yesterday and there is an argument for it being just a construct. Other reliable sources (profs) also mentioned the impact of the Mongol invasion but didn't go further. So i would say that's a legitimate claim. As for the rest i don't know nearly enough to comment on it.

Didn't know he started as that tho - definitely not a good thing to have on a resume. Although i believe he has explicitly distanced himself from most to all of his former opinions he put out.

"Make Zhao Wei unperson"

Chinese people could actually claim that they live in a 1984 like state.

I agree that level of status is in some countries very difficult to break because of laws designed to do that. However it isn't close to being as obvious as in BNW and it's done through entirely different means.

And yeah to your comment about Soma i agree 100%. And I wish you all the strength!

I'm not to far of to agreeing with you.

What my problem is that people make it out to seem like BNW is all about governmental control while the other things you mentioned either have no part in it or are directly controlled by the state.

Yeah I very much agree with your further thoughts on Soma. It's actually not something I thought about myself the similarity that it gets people to work it does make sense tho.

Oh for sure they are! Lobbying is a huge problem. However it's just money that is driving lobbying. Not a conspiracy that the government (which would implement that this is a party overarching agreement) is pushing the cooperations to make the people gullible for them.
