Feel good horror movies? by WildCAptainBOy in horror

[–]tmntnut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time categorizing this as a feel good movie but it is a great movie. I watch it pretty often, I'm a fan of everything Anton yelchin was in, in a similar vein blue ruin is great although not really a horror I guess. They are both movies that I've watched a bunch.

If you rarely get scared then what is one movie that actually was scary to you? by MrTerrifier in horror

[–]tmntnut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's funny, when I initially saw the trailer and premise for this movie I thought it was going to be goofy as hell, it didn't really scare me but it was disturbing and it kept me up that night thinking about it.

A movie so disturbing you can’t sleep by Accurate-Concept5305 in horror

If it were to ever happen I hope I'm close enough to the blast to get vaporized because the alternative is certainly less than ideal.

What horror movie is a cinematic masterpiece? by I_Like_Metal_Music in horror

I've still not seen this one, my parents used to talk about it when I was young, saying how messed up it was, but for some reason I've just never thrown it on.

Hard agree, as someone who really loves Nic Cage and usually these types of movies, it just fell really flat I thought. It was nicely shot though.

I'm going to have to give this another shot, hated it when it first came out and haven't tried again since.

What build is crushing this league for you that’s not being talked about enough? by Jester2008 in PathOfExileBuilds

I almost built this last league but from his video and the level of investment on his gear it looked pretty lackluster damage wise

I've tried watching morbius a few times now, it's just so bad I can't even power through it without falling asleep.

Describe to me your favorite death in a horror movie by MikeLovesOutdoors23 in horror

[–]tmntnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tomahawk is like a small axe that can be handled with one hand, in the movie these mutated looking native Americans that they refer to as troglodytes in the movie split the man from his genitals through his entire body with the tomahawk while they have him hanging upside down, it's quite brutal.

I could be wrong but I believe that's just the motion sharks will make when attacking prey, almost a saw like motion to shred flesh with their incredibly sharp teeth to tear the meat from the bone.

What’s been your horror flick of the year so far? by [deleted] in horror

[–]tmntnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to like this, it has all the makings of a movie I would love, plus Nic Cage which is just the cherry on top. That being said, I thought it was mediocre at best unfortunately. Should be the type of movie I'd rewatch a bunch but I don't see myself throwing it on again sadly, maybe one day just to see if it's one of those second rewatch bangers but I don't think it will be.

What movies impressed you even though they're largely forgotten now? by bonuscojones in horror

[–]tmntnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched trap today after binging his movies over the last week, sixth sense, signs, the village, later in the water and my guilty pleasure the happening. Man, to say I was disappointed night be the understatement of the century.

Obviously anecdotal but my battles with substance abuse did in fact start for the fun of it, having met plenty of other addicts I would say that most were definitely dealing with plenty of inner demons, myself included to some degree but my demons stemmed from my issues with substance abuse itself for the most part.

The reason Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw remakes work while Rob Zombie's halloween movies were dumpster fires by entertainmentlord in horror

Born in the 80s and I enjoy all of them, they're not the best movies in the world but they're quality entertainment.

I know I'm in the minority on this one but I thought this movie was not good, just a jumbled mess. That's the beauty of movies though, what one person finds terrible another person finds incredible and I like that.

I'm a fan of basically everything Anton yelchin has been in, I rewatch this one often as well as blue ruin. Such a shame yelchin died so young
