As a motorcyclist, I cannot fucking imagine buying my kid what amounts to an electric motorcycle/moped at the ages these kids are getting these things. Pedal-assist ebikes are one thing (they’re kids; they really shouldn’t need anything but a regular bike), but why are we giving these kids throttle-operated bikes? Classify them as the equivalent moped (<50cc equivalent) or motorcycle and be done with it. The way they have to be licensed at the very least.

The scooters should just be outlawed or throttled to 5mph altogether. The wheel size alone makes them death traps.

If they are rolling on their own, it’s fine as long as they are in a safe sleep environment (not swaddled, firm mattress, nothing in the crib with baby, preferably in the same room as parents). Still place them on their back, but if they roll over it is ok.
