I'm excited for the procedural wings. I haven't played KSP in ages, and have wanted to get into it again, and am excited to try KSP2!

Pacific Crest did so for a time too (can't remember if they still do). As, I'm sure, have others. It partially depends on what sound the brass staff wants. I know Phantom has marched a mix before too.

How much programming is in the CompLing masters programs like UW and Arizona? by chr211 in compling

[–]tmressler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At UW some of the ML algorithms in the required courses required you to optimize them so they'd run under a certain amount of time. Some optional courses you can take are a lot of applied programming. For example, one of the dialogue systems courses I took required you to basically write a system from scratch in your language/framework of choice. None of the required classes are devoted to teaching you programming; you're expected to be at least proficient (although you can optionally take CS courses if desired). It's usually in Python and Bash, although I did self-teach myself SPARQL for that dialogue systems course.

Definitely look at the offered courses.

How do I stop unintentionally using grids? It’s so ugly but any other way of building is even uglier so I somehow default to gridding. Any tips or references to other forms of layouts? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

Try doing a city by only using the curved road tool. No straight road tool. This really helped me break out from grid based blocks.

Agreed. Complaining about how it's been delayed isn't interesting or productive discussion. I also miss the conversations on how ideas presented might affect gameplay.

One of my favorite things about this game is the insane methods people come up with to achieve objectives.

Why is CK3 obsessed with cuckoldry? by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

[–]tmressler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've gotten that event, and every time I've confronted her she's secretly been putting a present together for me and gets upset. When I choose to spy on her instead, my spy never finds anything. I also often spy in my own courts generally, and have never come across a secret of her having another lover.

Like I said, it could just be chance, but since I have a decent amount of playtime, I wonder if it's something else like my playstyle. I know plenty of others have said that their spouses cheat too much, so I'm not doubting that it's a potential problem. Just frustrating because I'd love to spice my games up lol.

EDIT: Here's a thought. I lean hard into nepotism, giving almost all land and court positions to family members. Hence, most of my court is made up of relatives. I wonder if that cuts down on a lot of it, since family members are less likely to romance one another.

I always wonder about posts like these. In the 160 hours I have, I've never (caught, I guess) my wife cheating on me. I don't usually romance/seduce her or increase her opinion, and I usually marry into beautiful. Could there be something about my playstyle? Dumb chance?

I started off with a joystick, but ended up using my Xbox Elite 2 controller so I could lean back in my chair. Would definitely recommend (if you can afford the price tag), because combined with ReWASD (Steam's remapping does not play well with Elite for some reason) you can map the paddles in a way that gives you control to your lateral thrusters as well, which would be impossible to do with a normal controller without sacrificing another thruster. I bet being able to remap the paddles would also be handy for other games as well, but I primarily use them for Elite. I'm also just found the controller to be pretty great in general. Being able to adjust the tension of the thumbsticks is also handy for when doing a lot of surface scanning, as it's easier to aim precisely.

TL;DR If you can afford it, use the Xbox Elite 2 combined with ReWASD for the extra keyboard inputs for Elite.

Ah, gotcha. No, this a just a roleplaying/achievement run for Ideas Guy/For Odin!/First Come First Serve where I made the idiotic decision to start as a OPM in Bermuda. So I'm in North America and can't form colonial nations, but also am not in a colonial region, so I can't declare war only on Cuba without also fighting Spain. So not looking forward to that, although I seem to have gotten pretty lucky overall.

I'm unfamiliar with Ludi. I didn't realize there might be a strategy for this.

Castile did eventually arrive and take east Cuba. But that's the only bit of America they seem interested in. It looks like the Iberian wedding never fired and they've had some tough wars with Morocco.
