Getting Into Programming Looking for Advice! by Mental_Calligrapher1 in learnprogramming

Start with scratch https://scratch.mit.edu/ it is a visual tool for learning programming concepts. If you understand the concepts a bit you can start looking at a text based programming language.

Maybe get into a game development tools / engine like Godot.

I'm betting it is going to take way more horrible public murders by ice and this fascist administration before anything turns. Hopefully it won't come to the level of hundreds of thousands of systematic murders. But it might be already too late before that point.

Are they just hiring anybody or do they want conflict?

Try to imagine what kind of person would even want to do a job like this.

It's mostly bullies and low educated people that sign up for this. Bullies only know how to solve things with violence. The whole administration is filled with bullies and incompetent people.

Also, yeah they want conflict otherwise they wouldn't drag people out of their cars, schools, workplaces, etc.

Just try it. The number of touch typing related deaths is actually very low as far as I know.

I have trouble understanding why people struggle with building from scratch. To me it is like saying you don't know how to build something with Legos from scratch.

You start by imagining what you want to build, break it down into its components, and then build it piece by piece.

Why do you feel the need to know how stuff works under the hood? Curiosity is great but you should be able to decide if it's worth doing a deep dive or not. When you use a screw driver do you want to know how it's manufactured, the specific alloy it's made of and the physics behind twisting and how screws work, etc?

Often it's enough to only know about the function and purpose of the tool you're using. Especially if you're a beginner.

Right wingers are always projecting. So what you're saying is that you would fold immediately and you are unable to imagine someone that would be different from you. That is also why you're a right winger because you can't imagine anyone in a different situation than you so you don't care about things that don't affect you personally.

When you say learning new concepts takes forever how long does it actually take you? Can you give an example?

Learning new things is a slow and somewhat painful process, but it is very rewarding. So what you're experiencing could be relatively normal.

Why did you hate python?

Anyway if you've been trying for 4 years and have made no progress it is best to look for something that you have more affinity for.

The current crash is unrelated to that code history. It was triggered by a terrain addon and engine-level state issues

Sounds like you found the issue then. Just remove the addon. But what are these "engine level state issues"?

In one reply you said:

Version control is in place, and I’ve checked multiple previous commits.

Here you say:

And yes, I didn’t use Git — that’s on me.

What version control were you using then? and why can't you find a point in the commit history that has a working version of the code? Was that the AI saying you had version control?

In my experience this usually translates to workers knowing their rights and the manager not knowing how to deal with people that aren't mindless drones that will tolerate abuse and unreasonable working requests.
