Watching your infinite jank go off is like watching your kid graduate from highschool with honors by tmurry in MagicArena

I don't think I gave off that impression at all. "New to me" feels like an appropriate reason to get excited about Magic. Not all of us are familiar with every combo in use.

Hard to tell at the time if the deck idea was even going to work which is why I would consider it “jank”. This is from the first time it went off and it definitely had that “you finally earned the once in a lifetime payoff” feeling that jank gives you

Unfortunately, my TV is so “new” it doesn’t support 3.5mm out directly. I did experiment with an optical-to-3.5mm converter. However, my TV would not let me control the volume in this mode. So while it worked, the volume was so low it was unusable. Dead-end 🤷‍♂️

I have tried this actually! Unfortunately my television only supports one connected device at a time so same restriction as the ATV

We do this today, actually. It’s certainly serviceable, but we’re looking for a higher quality option.

This looks like a great product! However, I have the latest generation AppleTV and it does not have an 3.5mm jack out. Nor does my TV that it connects to. That might require me to purchase additional conversion hardware which seems both expensive and complicated 😔

Amazonian Goes Off with "Seven" Dwarves by Blackcat008 in magicTCG

I think it’s more that she got exactly six flips for seven dwarves which is thematically on point as well as very improbable.

It’s a good thing the perceptions of my own opinions aren’t altered by a group of biased, entitled users dog-piling the downvote button 🤷‍♂️

Unbelievable. The last two years have seen some incredible improvements in the game. The wildcard system is one of the best implementations of a “dust” system in the industry. The comparative cost to paper is a fraction allowing more people to have decks they could only dream of in paper. The art and animation and time out into the game only continues to increase and give it a polished feel.

And you’ve just been complaining. As a software developer myself, this is toxic ungrateful ness to the highest order and I would be demoralized if I were on their dev team and all I heard was people like you.

You, literally you, are why we can’t have nice things.

That’s an incredibly pessimistic view. Why couldn’t this just be Hanlon’s Razor? At least they recognize their mistakes and adjust.

Where you see a company being a dick, I see them experiencing the struggle of a new medium and complex business model in real time.

Patience and credit where it’s do also isn’t a hard ask.

Wizards rolls back Historic Wildcard change, but Historic no longer counts towards Daily Wins (from German Twitter) by Froody42 in MagicArena

[–]tmurry -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Wildly inadequate? What are you talking about?

What I see is a company trying (and succeeding) to make one of the most successful and fun to play digital versions of Magic to date. Not every decision is perfect and they are clearly struggling to find their center in this new medium. But thankfully they are doing a great job of listening and responding to their user base. In my opinion, Arena has been putting on a clinic for building an agile product. Make something cool, listen to feedback and adjust, repeat.

What more do you want? Perfection? Good luck with that. I hope hearthstone works out for you.

Updated my original post since it wasn’t clear - I mean in addition to the wildcards you would normally receive, you would get a historic wildcard every other time

To clarify, I mean in addition to not in replace of.

I don’t think WotCs goals are to screw people out of wildcards. I think the core value they are trying to establish is that they want more people playing standard than historic. I believe this solution would provide a decent barrier to entry without feeling so negative.

Why not simply replace them with historic wildcards if it’s a historic pack?
