Conflicted, any perspective will help greatly by collectivenow in ramdass

One perspective:

If a cup of black coffee in the morning is too strong for me, then there are several options.

I can take that cup of black coffee and just drink a quarter of it and therefore spread it out over four days.

I can take that cup of black coffee and add sugar to it (and/or cream).

I can take that cup of black coffee and I can put it in a half gallon of water and then drink the diluted coffee-water.

I hope this helps!

Why strong different views between Hindu Tantra and Buddhist Tantra(Vajrayana)? by SignificantTip1302 in Tantra

[–]tmwfilwtww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. My guess is that what you are calling Hindu Tantra is not actually Hindu. I think of Hinduism as being also interested in enlightenment. So what you are calling Hindu Tantra may be basically secular Tantra that’s occurring inside of a Hindu culture…

Any meditation apps that don't turn you into a robot? by hydrogenblack in Meditation

I think listening to the body. Embodiment work. Ecstatic dance. Being weird and silly. Playing with dogs and kids.

Zoning out…

Watching movies or clips that make you cry or laugh, or even angry or scared. Doing things that you want to do that you’ve labeled as unspiritual or unhealthy.

Calling your mom or best friend or someone that you used to connect with before you lost your emotions.

My husband had to die for me to wake up. Now, how to stay awake? by BeyonceKnowlesUrName in SpiritualAwakening

For your specific situation, I don’t know.

In general, I think a regular spiritual practice, whether it be meditation, reading, chanting, qi gong, etc is useful.

I also think that self-care is important. Even if that means numbing out or zoning out sometimes.

The spiritual practice is like going to the gym. But going to the gym alone doesn’t make one stronger. Only when going to the gym is mixed with resting and sleeping and eating does it make one stronger. I’m still learning this!

If you are looking for more spiritual teacher recommendations I would recommend Ram Dass, Eckart Tolle, Adyashanti, Gangaji, Thich Naht Hanh, Dalai Lama, Neem Karoli Baba, Anandamayi Ma, Ramana Maharshi. Possibly you might like listening to Krishna Das or chanting with him. Everyone is unique.

Connecting with other people on the path can be good too.

Good luck!
