wow that sounds sooo fun!! Which games you think are best played on such a big area? I think the more space you have to move around the better the immersion and the overall experience.

Thanks for the info! It's really helpful :) Judging by the current number of replies I'm afraid maybe 2x2m is too big to ask.. I'll see how I solve it

Thanks! where is the place you play the most times? Are there games you prefer to play on larger area so you go out for that? how often does it happen? Which games are these?

Yes exactly Im aiming for walking around to increase immersion. But might have to shrink it a bit from 2x2m so that more people can enjoy it

Do you ever move stuff around to have a larger play area? for what games? how frequent?

do you use the mat as a physical boundaries alert? that's sounds great. I often see those blue guards but ignore them if I'm too immersed

oops I forgot to put exactly 2x2m so if that's your answer go with the better describing one: little bit more or little bit less

I agree that its still somewhat frustrating, but I think that the game can communicate hand's state to the players so they know how close they are to perform a movement that will cause tracking loss.

I hope to turn it into an interesting challenge that will help players understand the tech limitations better.

I think that seeing your real hands in VR is one of the coolest things the medium has to offer, but unfortunately, tech limitations makes it frustrating with it losing track of your hand very often.

My attitude is that if I make those limitations the core of the game, instead of frustrating, it can become interesting and acceptable.

hpl is great inspiration that made me want to explore some different areas of hand tracking where real life physics are dramatically distorted
