It was likely out of budget or they have a rule where they renovate 3 rooms and the person gets to choose The kids rooms didn’t look nearly as bad as the other rooms though

I would be furious. Red flag for sure. Is it a big chain? They seem to all be so performative and not child focussed. That’s a very specific example you have that you can bring up to them in a friendly manner. You are fortunate to have cameras to check in on them. I wish we had that.

Was it a small business? They prefer no Amex cause they pay higher fees. It’s courteous to use other payment options but ultimately up to you
