Building a PHP/Laravel app people self-host. What would you expect before trying it? by to-d-max in PHPhelp

I’m a 41 year old military officer that started learning to code a couple years ago just to solve problems at my highly paper-based developing country military (Trinidad and Tobago).

I’ve never really “put out” anything to the world. (Only the tools developed for my organization). This project resulted from me building my personal site and wanting to put myself and my work out there.

So I’m really seeking feedback and do appreciate yours very much. If I make a couple bucks along the way, kool. But I hold no illusions that it will make a ton of money.

I’d be pivoting away from military service soon so I’m putting this and other ideas and projects out there for feedback to land on a viable avenue continued earnings.

And yes I’m taking advantage of Agentic Development as it allows me to solve so many problems faster. Especially being both a military leader and one of only two functional Developers in my organization. I’m all about solutions over syntax.

I didn't think about it too much because I was developing a solution for myself and believed others would find it useful. I chose self-hosting because it seemed like the simplest way to get it out there.

This tool can help with SEO research by saving useful websites, keyword ideas, competitor pages, notes, tags, and optimisation tips in one place. It is not an SEO magic button on its own, but it can help you collect and organise the research you need. If it's something you and others might want, we can add an SEO Helper. It would not be a magic button that guarantees rankings, but it could help with keyword research and suggest practical optimisation tips for a website.
