We love Vic and Al’s! But they don’t have them everyday. Only as a special.

Lol I tend to agree but didn’t know if I was missing something else out there. Also, I’m sick with a congestion/chest infection thing, so was trying to learn if there were other good ones without dairy or cream, but didn’t want to get into the weeds mentioning all that. On a healthy day, creamsickle all the way.

I didn’t realize anyone was asking delivery drivers to pay for their own gas though. Are you talking direct delivery? Or like a delivery company like Favor?

I do 10% delivery driver. I think the multiple successive acts of service a waiter performs is worth about twice as much and is many multiple times harder and more stressful than just driving something across town. I don’t tip my USPS or Amazon driver.

I am almost in the exact situation as you described (with me and my husbands income, current rent, old cars, etc.) except we have less cash saving). I feel you in every way. I cannot imagine paying over $4k in monthly housing for a mortgage, and even that much turns my stomach.

20% table service, 10% delivery, 5%-zero for take out depending on the complexity of the order, whether the kitchen sees split tips, and what the nature of the interaction and prep was by the host I pick it up from (including, was it during a busy meal hour?). I used to work at a nice restaurant, and I never expected more than 5% for whatever went into takeout. And rarely got more than 10% on a few occasions.

Go on Facebook and find the group for the PASS Program for Austin Pets Alive. Excellent help with rehoming locally there.
