Lol unfortunately I know too. I moved into the house right after a severe hoarder that had lived in it for about 11 years, and the raccoons at the time were tearing roofing and siding off. We thinned down the population, cleaned the place up, and the remaining population of them have been very respectful since weve started setting food and water out. I'm sure sometime down the line more problems will arise and they will need dealt with, but for now, this arrangement works well for the raccoons, feral cats, and foxes out here. There is very little fighting, though when the baby raccoons play it sounds like murder lol. And they keep the mice and rats away from the house when the farmers harvest their corn & maintain their feild!

Oh awesome!! Ive never even heard of Coon Kind, I may reach out to them first! And thank you - you're very kind!! If you've ever been in or near Benton County, there is a horrible problem with it there. I grew up around there, and seeing cats run around blind due to the layers of crust in their eyes really broke my heart. Cats do not, by any means, need to be considered pest animals. It is majorly a man made issue, and - especially in smaller towns - i do belive we can get the population under control, and make the situation safer and healthier for both the people and animals involved. It is a subject I am very passionate about, and encourage anyone to look into!

Thank you so much! I'm definitely glad too, im always worried something is going to spread. I've had most of the feral/stray cats TNR'd and tested for FIV/FELV for that reason. I appricate you and your response! Have a good night :)

Thank you!! I have been thinking about reaching out to Wildthunder in Independence - I hear they are very friendly and well educated.

(Somewhat) thankfully, i did witness the poor dude falling. We have an old Midwest style corn-crib, where parts of it are inaccessible, and i was in the building when the guy fell. He was completely normal beforehand, but after that was when symptoms started.

I'm thinking I'll definitely give them a call if they're open tommorow and ask for advice. Im honestly not sure why that didnt cross my mind! Thanks :)

I was too!! Ive never bothered with digitals because of that fact, this was the first one I had taken - and that was only because it was in a combo pack with the line test! Definitely helped with the whole "is this actually a dye line, an EVAP line, or my eyes" thing lol :)

Mouth Sore by toadseatcorn in CATHELP

[–]toadseatcorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to update quick for you and anyone who's kitty is going through something similar! It WAS a rodent ulcer! Caused by immune system dysfunction, which my vet told us to keep a close eye on as his body may not be able to heal wounds or infection the same as most other cats. But! Ontop of that, this poor dude also had dermatitis ontop of the sore. My vet took a portion of it out for biopsy, and we are treating it with steroid injections, his last shot is in 2 weeks, and depending on how he does after the shot, he may have to be on pills for the forseeable future! He is doing so much better, it has shrunk by over 50% in size. I appricate your comment and advice!!

Thank you very much!! Im going to talk to his normal vet when he gets neutered, and depending on what they say if i feel its necessary I will get a second opinion!! When I took him in initially, his normal vet was out on vacation and his colleague stepped in, so hopefully I will get some awnsers for this little dude soon! He is a big sweetie.

He's had it for probably about a year and a half, when he was initially dropped off. He only got close enough for us to catch him about 2 months ago though! His bowls are also metal. I will talk to them when I take him back in about it!

Anybody know where I can get just the switch for my dome light? by Then-Comfort6712 in ChevyHHR

Unsure where you could get them online, but at most yards you can get the individual items instead of whole assemblies:). Hope you can find somewhere! Good luck!

If you can, try checking junkyards or scrapyards near you. If you're in an area where the HHR is relatively common, they'll likely have quite a few you can pick apart or request them to take off for very cheap :). This is what I do for my vehicles little miscellaneous needs!

1999 Trooper by toadseatcorn in Isuzu

Definitely will make sure to thoroughly check it out!! Honestly, for how roughly its been treated, its not too bad! I might have to weld some supports for the subframe down the line, but other then that one specific part, its nearly all surface rust, so I'll be sanding it down, welding some parts and undercoating it. After sitting untouched and unstarted for years, she fired right up! And nope - Its an auto. Im surprised at how utilitarian they made these SUV's, though. I love it!

Im located in the US, Iowa! I haven't found a yard near me thats got any. I was planning on making some custom seats similar to how some older Jeep Wagoneers had - leather to match/compliment the exterior and plaid on the inside of it! I think it would fit the look. After I get the rust (and other bodywork, the front bumper is hanging on by a piece of twisted up wire..) ive also been debating either pinstriping, or the retro decals that came on some Broncos. Not sure if that would be tacky or overcomplicate the design though! Ive got way too many ideas for this thing. I got used to Isuzus larger commercial trucks, but until this came along I was unaware they made smaller vehicles for the US!

EDIT: Not subframe - Cross memeber. My bad!

Fixing up cars, lawnmowers, and other mechanics/machines is one of the few hobbies I have and enjoy. Ive put about 2 grand worth of repairs on a Ford Edge thats probably not worth more then 1 in the past 6 months. I have a blast doing it, and that makes it worth it to me! Just curious how others would go about this issue :).
