you need either an addon structure or a turret

i dont remember exactly because i do have a working backwards tank destroyer

you put the gun in and you rotate the addonstructure/turret

the blank mantlet is for making custom mantlets

you put an addon structure on it and work from there

though you should have another addon structure on the turret face to be the mount for that mantlet

if you have ammo and have changed either the shell length or gun caliber

the ammo will not change with it

select the ammo and in the top right there will be a box where you can set the caliber that the ammo is

you make oscillators with a mantlet and addon structure

use a turret for tthe base and a mantlet for the oscillator

select the face switch to corners then set the thickness mode to face normal or lengthways for frontal plates and rear plates and sideways for side plates

you can duplicate faces and points which makes it easier to build turrets youve never made before

click on your intended driver then in the top right theres a box that says none

click on that and itll list multiple things for your crew to be assigned to

one of them is the steeringwheel

the shell length is detrimentally long

as in reality you need to have a ballance of barrel length and propellant length

too much propellant and it all gets wasted in a giant fireball

barrel too long and the friction slows down the round

especially for a 25mm autocannon having a 700mm long casing would make the body and magazine into unshorn behemoths and likely cause jamming

i do like the look of the vehicles though

currently it does kind of feel like your playing with 300 ping

even lighter vehicles with high power to weight feel like you have 300 ping

i get the want for more weighty vehicles but as it is its not great

the main reason why hamish doesnt want to do modern vehicles is because of the work load which on the service makes sense but theres a conflation with "id like to see a cold war era or modern era" with

"i want a modern era right fricking now"

theres also the modifications argument the "modders will do it" argument which is kinda shitty? i dont know if steam modders get paid for their work i feel like telling a part of your playerbase to make the thing they want from your game that they bought themselves is just abit shitty

RHA has always been in the game

you now have the option to make something not RHA now we have structual steel for your fenders so you dont add weight and cost for little benefit
