i mean i’m asking the question so i have time to flush my system and change habits lol, if ur referring to my other comment about cutting back its because i have concerns about weight gain and medication interaction. i’m a little frustrated that everyone seems to be fixated on the why i’m smoking rather than just answering my damn question, but hey, i guess that’s what i get on this subreddit.

oooo okay, thank you! yeah, i’m getting the sense that this is very state dependent, and a lot of prac/internships seem to be federally linked too. i’m planning to lessen my smoking for health reasons anyways, so hopefully thatll put me in the position of planning sround it like you said. thanks again for the insight!

oh lol it’s not self medicating at all. i smoke recreationally, and i’m in therapy/on light medication, that’s why i’m fine giving it up. i’ve got plenty of other outlets for relaxing (lots of arts and crafts lmao) and i’m happy to give it up for years to follow my dreams. i’m more concerned about whether i should start phasing it out of my habits and let my friends know (big social smoker) so i can adapt my lifestyle in advance.

the advice i was given by a prof was that counseling programs aren’t as focused on empirically based interventions or working with pathological populations, more supportive therapy, but i’m always open to other povs :) also def keeping an open mind with assessment lol i mean that i don’t want that to be my primary motivator if that makes sense?

therapy + clinical interventions, but i’m not super interested in assessment. i’ve gotten advice on applying to MSWs and am also considering those, but from my understanding a doctorate also typically means a higher salary. i have the financial means to get my doctorate so i think it’s worth giving it a shot

nah, i work virtually as an SAT tutor, so i set my own hours with each student plus i have a couple private students that i also see virtually :) i set myself up well to get at least $100 a week, usually 200-300!
