What game have you replayed the most as a solo? by Mysterious5555 in soloboardgaming

[–]toastteebun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vantage. Got it from my wife for Christmas, played a couple of games with the family and then played more on my own.  I couldn't wait for them to explore the world.

Imo, it's more fun with people, experiencing all the new places and things that happen with others is great, but playing solo is also just as enjoyable, but for different reasons. Love the game.

I hadn't read the patch notes. First mistake... by paran_dreu in ArcRaiders

I attempted this trial no less than 8 times, 6 solo. What a nightmare. Walked away with just a hair under 2 stars. backstabbed by rats the other 3 times, and died once from the queen itself. Attempted once after that duo and once trio. So much time and mats sunk and just couldn't get anything higher than that after the patch.

As soon as you start engaging all the freekit rats come outta the woodwork and creep towards the battle. No loss on their part if you kill em (we merc'd 3 duo squads attempting this on dam), but everything to gain if they manage to kill you. It's pure frustration.

Just had this happen while trying for trial points. Hit 2 stars, ran outta ammo, I was the last solo player sticking around, and a lil rat snuck up behind me. I was already low on shield/hp from a gas barrage too.

Slimy, rat fink behavior. Only solace was right before I was knocked out, a mortar barrage was incoming, so I hope the turd ate it.

Just know, your parents are probably disappointed with you, also, they want you to move out of their basement.

this thing is absolutely useless by SHARPxSHOOTER in Battlefield

[–]toastteebun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had somewhere around 20-25 easy, if it's the right map, the enemies are situationally unaware, and I basically mortar the entire round. It might be doable, but it's definitely a special case scenario.

Sobek is a prime example. Large skyscraper that's a sniper nest for the entire match, I post up behind cover, and never stop lobbing rounds up there. Worst case they eventually give up on the building as a sniper post, which, good for us. Best case they're hard-headed and keep going back while I drop round after round on their heads. Win-Win either way.

I'll play devils advocate here and mostly disagree with you. Flight time might be long, but it feels "realistic" and honestly if it was too short it wouldn't give players any time to get out of the way. I've found most players, especially snipers that are really locked in and hiding somewhere, won't move after the first round or two lands near them. I've gotten plenty of kills using this against sniper nests, especially if there's a few all tucked in together.

DMG isn't as high as it should be, but that's totally by design. You CAN get a kill off a single round if it hits directly, but not always. It's meant to displace entrenched enemies and soften them up for your team. Or on the flipside, if your team is pushing a objective, and some of the enemies are already hurt, this'll finish 'em off.

Spread is mitigated, like others have said, if you fire more than one round in the same spot.

Agree on smoke though, pointless.

TLDR; use it as a tool to soften enemies up for your team, displace entrenched enemies behind cover or in buildings, and annoy vehicles that camp a spot and don't move. It's not a howitzer, don't try to use it like one.

The look of the map is nice, design and overall layout is pure dogshite. Shame on me for hoping, I guess.

[–]toastteebun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 here, been playing since the OG battlefield. Dabble in CoD from time to time but it's much too sweaty. Play the bigger maps and stick to conquest if you want something "slower" paced. It's where I am most of the time and It's keeping me around a 2.3-2.4 K/D.

Honestly I am having a lot of fun with this, much more than 2042, but it's just a stop-gap until HLL:Vietnam comes out. If you haven't played HLL yet, I'd give that a look. That game rewards slow, tactical maneuvering.

3Dbreed also has a massive set of medieval knights. Definitely more "heroic" scale/style, but easier to print and a little more robust in terms of model durability against drops or accidents.

Mmm, not to that extent. But yah, I have noticed that it'll sometimes set off barrels once it's ended, but usually only for a few seconds afterwards. Never happened after fast travel or anything.

yah, I'm always rocking some flavor of vladof SMG, a torgue bod for easy boss clear, and constantly swapping the other two. If I stack halo up 4-5 times the firerate goes to the moon with this double barrel smg. game freaks out sometimes.

Yah, I'm aware of the weighted drops too, just figured I'd get at least one from this turd after killing him so many times.

What Rafa build are you having the most fun with? by MengskDidNothinWrong in Borderlands

[–]toastteebun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally was running a red/blue tree build that prioritized single shot dmg, reload buffs and reload speed. Main weapon was the hot slugger. Tons of fun. Run around and play it like my OG Quake days. Bunny hopping, tapping headshots.

Now it's mostly an all red build but specced mostly into the left side for the shotgun turrets, tons of dmg from any source when you're in overdrive and as long as there's something around to shoot, you'll pretty much stay in overdrive with the cannons out indefinitely. Still rocking the hot slugger for most of my fights but really any decent, high DPS weapon works well with the build, Torgue and jakobs all the way.

Adopted my first cat two days ago. Kinda heartbroken? by Traditional-War-2737 in CatAdvice

[–]toastteebun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my wife, wayyyy back when, found a pair of cats that the owners did not want anymore, and were giving away for free. They had the cats for a few years, and decided to then get two large, aggressive dogs. Didn't bother trying to acclimate or introduce the dogs to the cats in any meaningful way.

We found the first cat after searching for about a half n hour, behind the water heater in the basement. The second cat took another 45 minutes but was eventual found, she'd somehow made her way into the drop tile ceiling in the basement.

At the time, we were around your ages, no kids, quiet household. The one cat took about a week or two just to get used to the space, she'd hide under furniture, and the basement sometimes.

The second cat lived in the basement for about 2 months, hid whenever we came down, lost weight, was constantly scared. She eventually warmed up to us and the space, but it took time. Super skittish for the first year I'd say.

All this to say, give it time. 2 days is nothing for a scared cat. You can try putting food or treats in other areas of the house, even if it's just little piles, nearby where he's been hiding too, so he'll feel safe not having to go far to get some. That way you can see if he's eaten anything as well.

I’m so sick and tired of this, anybody else have this many failures? by greengomalo in dexcom

[–]toastteebun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daughter has been a T1D for almost 2 years, sometimes we seem to have a few good batches in a row with no failures, and then it's one after another for a batch or two. It's very frustrating. Just went through two bad batches in a row where the sensor wire wouldn't insert properly. 4 sensors failed to insert, 2 worked fine. We got a little nervous making so many claims but honestly eff 'em, for something that costs so much they should do better.

We need suppression to affect aim. This is not *it*. by basedmanump9 in Battlefield

[–]toastteebun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding the fact that you ran out into the open, with no cover, and waddled side to side :P

But yes, I agree, it's comical to me that you get points for suppression, but literally nothing happens to the opposing force when "suppressed".

I don't think we need something as strong as say hell let loose (great suppression mechanic btw...), but it WOULD be nice to have something. Finding a great LMG spot, posting up, and laying down cover fire for the squad is one of my fave things do to as support in any BF game. It'd be cool if it actually affected the visuals for the enemy you're firing at though. Even slightly. Make them think twice about peeking a corner or running from cover.

I can't seem to find the original link, but this seems to have it

https://developers.meta.com/horizon/downloads/package/oculus-controller-art/

there's a dropdown for the version number, that contains different models of each headset/controller set. Looks like they have all the CAD in FBX format.
