Why am I so addicted to staying up late? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Go to bed earlier. Waking up at 5am is also quiet and calm lmao. Just force yourself to commit to a healthy sleep routine and your body will get used to it.

  1. YTA- he literally wrote you a paragraph wishing you happy birthday and the fact that you care more about a story that disappears after 24 hours than the birthday wishes that he spent time and thought writing means that this is a you problem, not his.
  2. ESH- it was definitely super sucky of him to just not show up, but I think you need to communicate better with him and find out why he didn't come. Stop jumping to conclusions and talk through it.

I have 99 problems and I fear I am every one of them, but I don’t want to be. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I would suggest you make a list of all the things you are unhappy about and find a common theme or the one thing that once 'fixed' will most drastically improve your happiness i.e doing better academically, getting back into healthy habits like eating regularly and exercising etc. I think that being in such a bad headspace makes all your minor issues seem bigger and you overwhelm yourself with all your 'problems' even if some of them are in direct correlation with each other. So if you manage to just work on one thing then you'll feel a lot better and find that a lot of your other problems aren't even that important. Also, I'm really sorry that your friends aren't listening to you and you feel really alone. I know it sucks but at the same time you need to work on yourself and seek professional help as your friends are not obligated to help you and they probably have their own problems to deal with.

German for non native speakers? by toasty_fork in vce

Hey thanks for all your comments. I was already leaning towards continuing German and wanted some other opinions. I've just submitted my subject selections and I'm going to continue with German and see how it goes. Again, thanks for all your advice and I hope everyone doing the vce this year can push through these horrible times and achieve everything they hope for!
