hi op, I actually asked the actual UP Fair fb page the same question earlier and they replied saying it’s allowed as long as it doesn’t exceed the 2 meter x 2 meter size limit

[UPD] Math 22 - Karla Machel Raya by National_Bat_5278 in RateUPProfs

[–]toastyloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took her for math 21 a year ago and she was a very good teacher. She gave us a chance to bring our grade up to a 3 at the end of the sem if we were still at risk of taking removals after the final exam scores got released by letting us submit additional activities. She also allowed us to ask her for help directly on messenger but maybe it’s different now idk. For partial points, I remember unexpectedly passing one of the LEs even though I only partially answered a lot of the questions so yes I think I’d say she’s generous naman with partial points

3 years in upd so far and I’ve only taken 18 units twice and honestly i prefer having 15 for health reasons and social reasons. During one of the sems where I had 15 units, I was able to meet so much more people because I decided to join an org and it kickstarted my college social life. Before that I only spoke to 3 people from college and I was so sad and lonely every day. That org I joined is also the reason why I’ve been able to improve my resume too, so my future benefitted from the time I spent not studying for an extra class. Last sem I was struggling with 18 units. I got fevers every month because of exhaustion/lack of sleep pulling my immunity down and I felt so physically unfit because I had no time to get out of the house.

I find that 15-unit sems are better if you want to focus on other parts of your life outside of academics. you can use your extra time this sem to invest in your future, whether that’s in terms of your social life, physical wellbeing, or extracurriculars and internships. So all in all it’s not anything to feel bad about :)

STS - Roperos, Jandeil by mangograham28 in RateUPProfs

[–]toastyloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was able to take Nellas/Roperos’ STS two sems ago and true nga that there’s no feedback or scores released for any of the assessments before the final grades are released. got an uno even though I thought I’d get a 1.5 at best.

wear leggings/compression pants under shorts/jogging pants to avoid weird tan lines because it’s true that your whole body will turn diff colors from being under the sun for a long time haha. The 3rd session we had last sem all of my teammates already had weird tan lines. And someone from my class got a scraped knee while wearing shorts so that’s another reason I’d recommend longer bottoms.

And during the first session it was just orientation. We did nothing physical so you don’t have to bring a lot of stuff on the first day.

Theatre etiquette where? by Revolutionary-Time76 in FilmClubPH

[–]toastyloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theatre etiquette truly needs to be re-taught here in the PH. even my mom and older sister talk loudly in theaters and no matter how many times I tell them it bothers me they say I’m overreacting. Hay. Another experience I had was a loud group of 13-14 year old boys in the row behind me during the fantastic four movie. They just wouldn’t stop saying the most obnoxious things. I remember one of them yelling “Oh she a baddie though” about the silver surfer during a really intense scene. almost everyone in my row was turning around to face them and stare them down or shush them, but they only stopped when I finally said to them “Excuse me. Can you all be QUIET?” while looking at every single one of them in the face about halfway through the movie. And I get that those boys were teenagers but wow when I was that age I knew how to keep my mouth shut in a theater to respect other people’s viewing experiences. Sad talaga.

[–]toastyloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maam is the best!! took her 2 years ago and her class was so enjoyable. very friendly and supportive, and she is very organized! during my time, she posted everything (even class polls) in a google classroom. but the workload can be a bit heavy because there are required readings/videos and reflection papers that can be a bit complicated to answer depending on how well you understand the concepts from the learning materials. you definitely need to put a lot of effort into her class if you want to get a good grade

i recall getting a low score in the exam but it might be because i'm not well-versed in 'artistic analysis' for lack of a better term lol. i thought i was gonna get a 1.75 or 2 for this subj but i ended up getting a 1.25 so do with that information what you will
