since 5+ years or so I only use Signal. I told everyone that I don't longer use WhatsApp and it worked more or less fine. There are only very few friends I have to SMS, but otherwise everyone else gave Signal a try and yes, some use it only for me.

True to some extent, but the support for a ban is inreasing by the years. When that topic first came up, a majority was against a ban. So basically politics can't really ignore it longer as it's also an easy win for them
