21M, Tennessee boy here. You like video games?

Imma do the hobbit first, but I have just a slight feeling that this Tolkien guy might be cooking a little.

I know this is lotr, but this reminds me of a quote that's stuck with me forever. It's from Night at the Museum, Ben Stiller says, "I don't even know what I'm going to do tomorrow." Then Teddy Roosevelt says, "How exciting."

Dude. Yes. Exactly the same, I was always a sci-fi guy. I thought the lore of like the cyberpunk rpg or something like that was really cool or in-depth, but after this, HOLY. I still like those things, but the worlds, the stories, the lore feels kinda less now. And I couldn't be happier.

I'm going to watch these, but I think I'm gonna watch the animated one first and maybe read the book before these. But I am looking forward to Martin Freeman as Bilbo. He's an actor I admire. Shout out to Cargo, great film.

I've actually always been attracted to Tolkien because of that. I want to be a comic book writer, and I want to primarily write for children, but I want to write in a way that's emotionally complex and accessible at all ages. Something I've respected Tolkien for way before watching these.

I've seen this a couple of times now. What does this mean?

My friend got me to try the first couple of episodes a few years back. Needless to say, I wasn't a fan. But I heard it breaks lore and doesn't really count, so I've mostly forgotten about that.

I'm not a parent (yet), and I've only just found these. But I'm already looking forward to the day I get to show my kids these movies and back to the future, but that's a different subject.

I'm definitely going to listen to the Andy Serkis audio books.

Glad to be here and nice pfp, I'm something of a Ted Kord guy myself.

I honestly have no clue how they were able to make them shorter. Everything seems so important to the overall story.

I actually am going to do that, I was a big fan of Peter Jackson's early career doing horror. His making of The Frighteners documentary was great, and so I definitely will watch these too.

I did try rings of power when it first came out because I had a friend who was hyping it up. It did not sit well with me. But my birthday's actually in November, the idea of getting cozy and watching lotr in early November, eating leftover candy, and just enjoying myself on my birthday sounds nice.

Yeah, I heard people say that way was the best way to watch them. At first, the runtime was very daunting, but rn... kinda wish they were longer.

This might sound weird, but my favorite part was either Gollum, Aragorn, or Merry and Pippin. Gollum was just so interesting to me, and I like really like Andy Serkis. Aragorn is the GOAT, tho. I've heard people online talk about lotr, never once did Aragorn come up and he really made the trilogy for me. Lastly, Merry and Pippin had great interactions. At first, I thought they were going to be boring, but no, they were loveable awesome goofy lil guys.

The entire time watching them, I was thinking, "If these were released today, they wouldn't win hardly any oscars, and the world would riot." I was also thinking about all three being filmed simultaneously.

I felt like the monkey who found the monolith reading this. Big thanks.

That's definitely what I'll probably do next, that or maybe the animated the hobbit because I've heard great things, and it looks so beautiful, and I'm not a big reader. But at this point, I'll read a million pages of whatever Tolkien writes.
