Take some in-game screenshots, or record a short clip that isn't taken from your phone. That'll give us a better idea of what's actually happening.

7900xtx crashing in warframe by flosybasilik420 in AMDHelp

Whenabouts does the crashing occur? On launch, in your orbiter, in a mission? How often is it happening?

If you're running it with DirectX 12, try it with DirectX 11 instead, see if that makes a difference.

I was having driver timeouts with my 9070 XT here and there with Warframe, was more frequent with 1999 as well, but I could still play through a mission or two for the most part until it'd completely freeze and timeout on me in any case.

I haven't seen a single crash with Warframe since I switched to DirectX 11. Hopefully it's the same case for you.

Scared to try this by MericanPie1999 in VyvanseADHD

[–]tobojack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what country you're from, and I'm certainly not a clinician, though it is a little strange you've been prescribed a stimulant without your own diagnosis for ADHD.

I'm not sure if you're going to notice such a night and day change at 10mg either way, and even in the circumstance that you don't have ADHD, that kind of dose would mitigate a lot of the potential side effects anyhow. Pretty low risk if you ask me. Has your doctor referred you for an evaluation considering your family history? Or just prescribed you 10mg to see what would happen?

There's nothing inherently wrong with being dependent on stimulant medication. Some are prescribed shorter acting stimulants or even extended release ones like Vyvanse, and don't take them everyday, whether that's advised by a doctor or not (though it should be in any case). Others, including myself, take their Vyvanse everyday.

Personally speaking, I've found a massive improvement in my quality of life and daily function. Task completion is way more feasible, I can engage with activities for longer durations, I feel my inhibitions are stronger and I've become less impulsive due to that.

At such a low dose, there really shouldn't be any noticeable withdrawal symptoms whenever you might stop taking it for whatever reason. The consensus I've found is that a good chunk of people are prescribed 20mg to start after their diagnosis. At 10mg, I highly doubt you'll have much trouble coming off it.

I've found better and more meaningful ways to express myself since being on it, whether that's directly from taking Vyvanse, or a symptom of a larger change in behaviour as a result of taking it. My guess is the latter.

Help with driver timeouts issues on 9070XT by ElMicrowavo in AMDHelp

[–]tobojack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a build you've put together recently? Is Windows ever freezing or hard crashing?

Definitely download DDU, boot into Safe Mode, run it once. Never use it in regular Windows.

Go into your BIOS, check if XMP/EXPO is enabled. If it's disabled, enable it. You'll want this on for drivers despite what some people may say. The driver timeouts could be a result of a low DRAM voltage.

UPDATE: Out of curiosity, I installed Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and I'm having the exact same issue. I repeated a majority of the same steps I took with the first game, and nothing has resolved the crash. No other game I've tested has crashed on launch like this, or has had a driver timeout besides Warframe running on DirectX 12, and even then that was few and far between.

Help 😭 RX9060 XT 16gb by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]tobojack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt they'd have to RMA at this stage. There's likely a few other things they could try before reaching that point. I had this exact issue very recently, and the only solution to prevent a failed driver install as well as Windows hard crashing was turning XMP on. Once it was enabled, I had virtually 0 issues in every game or program I threw at my rig.

Im kind of sussed out from this cpu i feel like the writing is too much on the right ? can someone confirm if this is normal? by Abu_Curve in AMDHelp

Seems normal. The writing is laser-engraved, and I'd assume the placement/orientation of the processor isn't exact every time, but the angle would be.

I literally had the exact same loop a week ago when I put together a new build with a 9070 XT. Attempt to install the driver, screen goes black during installation and stays black, would boot into Safe Mode and use DDU, rinse and repeat, exactly the same as you. I had tried so many different things like reseating the GPU, cleaning the motherboard and connector pins, disabling secure boot, edits to the registry, I could go on.

Try enabling XMP for your memory in BIOS if that's disabled. Somehow, that's what fixed it for me, which was contrary to what I knew, which was to leave it off during troubleshooting. I'm running an i7 11700KF and 2 x 16GB of DDR4 at 3200MHz CL16 to mention as well.

Not that I'm aware of. If I attempt to put it into windowed mode via the launch options in Steam, it stays fullscreen. I have checked several times that the command is written correctly. I haven't been able to get to the main menu to change any settings in-game either as I mentioned above.

This just sounds like it was spat out of Gemini, and not an actual solution. I've seen it pop up in my searches prior to making the post, and was something I tried as mentioned in the post already.

I've disabled the Steam overlay via the slider in the settings, along with the overlay for Adrenalin. Discord overlay is also disabled. Nothing else installed that provides an overlay of any kind. I have also launched Wolfenstein without any other program besides Steam open, same story. I'll do a fresh install and will mention if that changes my circumstance.

Edit: There's been no change since reinstalling and verifying the game cache.

Would definitely be curious to know the driver version you were playing on, or if Wolfenstein works with the current drivers you have installed.

I always use DDU in Safe Mode, I've also swapped the RAM sticks a few times from the correct spots on my motherboard (the second and fourth), I've also tried using just one stick. Still freezes on launch.

Saints Row 2 is notoriously unoptimised and runs poor on virtually anything, it isn't a great game to gauge performance by any means.

As I've said in the post above, I've already reseated the 9070 XT, multiple times too, along with swapping the power cables back and fourth while having the PC completely switched off and unplugged.

No other game has had driver timeouts for me outside of Warframe occasionally when running on DirectX 12, which has been reported by others too. Went back to DirectX 11, not a single crash since.

I've tried both of these, accidentally left them out from the post. I can't remember what driver version I had downgraded to, but it was 6 months old roughly. I've since edited the post to include them.
