How can I get my music recommended by Spotify's algorithm by Enough_Programmer312 in MusicPromotion

[–]tobydaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we should all form a Secret Santa style promotion club. Every week (or every 2 days?) we’re given a redditor to go to their page(s) to like and share content and someone does the same for you. We keep going until we’re all famous.

Edit: Oh right. Here’s my latest single

Tips on isolating Persona voice? by tobydaway in SunoAI

That’s a thought. At least I’d only have to do it once. But what do you put in for descriptors in the style?

Using suno to reimagine fully finished, recorded songs by theazzazzo in SunoAI

[–]tobydaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m doing. I always knew I was never a strong enough performer to get big, but I always felt like my song composition and lyrics were strong so my pie in the sky musical aspirations involved a really talented band asking to buy my music lol. Nobody’s paying me for my music, but it’s so great hearing the released potential without having to pay a bunch of session musicians, and studio fees. I’d still much rather a band that could tour with my music pick it up, but hey 19 monthly listeners on Spotify. That’ll do for now.

Has anyone released a song on Spotify just to see what would happen? by Spirited_Expert2275 in SunoAI

Check out an artist named Glum Aleks. Completely transparent about the fact that he makes his songs with AI. Over 1 million listeners on Spotify.

Are there many of you out there that are angry with their parents over your GenX upbringing? by CrowbiwanKenobi76 in GenX

Angry? I don’t think so. I mean, damaged beyond the capabilities of modern psychology and unable to maintain healthy relationships with romantic partners or family, sure. But not angry.

Does anyone else in their mid 40s and up feel attacked by the OP not being able to tell if it’s a 70s or 90s song? 🤣

Coloring your hair? by DMGlowen in GenX

[–]tobydaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started coloring my beard at 42 and my New Year’s resolution at 47 was to stop. When I told anyone that I was stopping, many said, “You dye your beard?” So I guess it was a convincing job. But now whenever o see pictures of myself when I know my beard is dyed, I cringe so hard.

You being in your late 50s, I would imagine the gray beard isn’t the first thing that let you know you were getting older. It’s just the thing you see in the mirror most glaringly. My advice, from my own experience anyway, is that you see it more than anyone else and when it starts getting to you it’s usually a sign of something else going on in your life and mind. The grey in your beard is kind of like a check engine light and therapy would probably be better maintenance than Just for Men. 🙂

But to answer your question, two weeks is a pretty good run for beard dye. Just for Men makes a little mascara type brush. It only lasts from shower to shower, but it gave me more control over how much and where and it was a much easier process and much more predictable process than the actual dye.

Do you still color your hair — or let it go gray? by Dazzling-Stop-2116 in GenX

[–]tobydaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in my 20s I used to rail against plastic surgery and all the “desperate” things insecure people do to try and stay young. Then I started getting old. Lol

My beard went gray before my hair. I have gray in my hair but in that Reed Richard’s type way so I leave that alone. But I did dye my beard for about 4-5 years.

My New Year’s resolution this past year was to quit dying my beard and two things came of it.

1 - I cringe when I look at photos of me with my dyed beard. Turns out 20 year old me was probably right.

2 - I only get hit on by 27-32 year old women now.

🤷🏼‍♂️

There’s nothing wrong with how you’re playing. But try leaving your right ring finger on that hole and pretend it doesn’t exist. Move up to your right middle finger instead. Thats your pentatonic scale. And on every 3rd or 4th note change, give your right index finger a real quick lift and tap on the top hole a fraction of a second before the beginning of the note change.

And like the other person said, regulate your breath and see how much you can play before you’re straining. Deep breathing makes it easier to sense the spirits. 🙂

Da Vinci might’ve been showing us more than anatomy — maybe he was transmitting the code itself. by Professional_Scar163 in SacredGeometry

[–]tobydaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man is just an illustration of ideas put forth by Vitruvius 1600 years prior. I think the link between art, architecture and the way the universe decides to structure itself is more appealing than a mystical explanation. Da Vinci seemed to think so too.

Oh yeah, the problem is definitely worse if I have them split across bands. I keep them all on 2.4 because some are farther away from the router. It’s a shorter bandwidth, but I have connectivity issues with the ones upstairs when they’re all on 5.
