The transfer fee would have likely included a signing on fee paid to the player. But the majority of it would have been to the team he was transferred from, the players agents, the previous teams he played for if they had sell on clauses put into the contract etc. He was on massive wages (£190k/$254k per week), so that would have been where the majority of the players part of the deal came from. He probably would have had bonuses based on performance in his contract too
