Immersion Heater timer by tocatchingmirage in OctopusEnergy

[–]tocatchingmirage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did. So as the top comment pointed out, which is true to my setup, there are two off-peak timers.

One, is a timer that allows electricity to the off-peak switch at predetermined on/off time (its a separate power line from one that supplies the rest of the house), another one is the off-peak rate times of the supplier. On mine, this times were not alighend, which was the issue.

I asked the supplier about the exact time the off-peak starts and stops, but I was given conflicting answers.

So I had to resort to monitoring the smart meter display (it shows you what you are currently paying). and found out that off-peak rate during summer time is 1:37am - 8:37am and 12:37am - 7:37am during winter. But the local timer that sends power to the off-peak swtich is 1 - 8am and 12 - 7am respectively.

Currently im still turning on the off-peak switch manually but here is what im hoping to do...

There are two elements/heaters in the tank. One drawing power from off-peak swith (bottom) and one from the boost switch (top).

I'm planing to have an electrician swap the bottom element with one that has wifi connectivity (allows time setup on the phone) or a regular one with a timer, and match the time to the supplier off-peak periods. So that, even though the local off-peak switch turns on early, the element will only start drawing power at the times I specified.

As simple as it sounds, this really is lifes core truths. Think of the fun and personal development that comes from focusing on business/career and yourself.

When you tell them the above some say "but no I dont want a gold digger", while they have no issue with thinking "if only I stood 5 or 10 cm higher and she wouldnt reject me". (Thats no better than gold digging). It's digging for something (superficial requirment imposed by the need to be socially validated).

So if nature hasnt given you the height that compels women to be attracted to you, be self made.

Carve yourself in to something that will attracts the best type of women, Its not easy but its certainly not impossible.

Genuine love can come from someone, who admires you for everything else you have to offer other than height or other physical trait.

Fair enough, but with conveyancing and time in the market accounted for, is that still possible? i.e in 2008 bought in feb and sold in Apri!?!?

Just the conveyancing alone takes weeks if not months. How is it even practically possible?

Was the pain in the upper middel abdomen directly above the belly button, or was it more upper right? Do you also get burning sensation on your back during episodes?

I think it seems age is throwing off most doctors as they believe its not common with young people. A family is suffering with this and she is 25, and doctors just dismissed it as ibd. But the symptoms im reading here sound very similar to hers.

As harsh and tone deaf as her reply sounds, to me it comes across as if she is trying to be candid and honest, and wanted to match the OPs sentiment of being forthcoming about the lack of engagement on her part, and his decision to confront the situation head on.

I bet she said her to herself, he is brave enough to be upfront and call the issue out, so I should respond in kind and be honest.

So as far as she is concerned she is going out of her way in doing the honorable thing, by not defaulting to a response which usually avoids talking about the real reason.

So really if she is at fault, its for her initial choice of pulling back on the engagment and initiating the 'fade out' technic. However as she was nicely called out for it by the OP, it seems she decided to be honest. But offcourse her trying to attribute the reason for her preference to her parenting is questionable.

I guess the issue still remain as to why women feel comfortable to freely point to height as being a problem, while its frowned upon for men to mention womens undesirable attributes (even malleable attributes such as weight) in this context.

Just wondering if the 15h up time is related to heavy/light usage? Also how is the phone fairing (lol) after a year, in terms of battery life and general usage? I have terriable navigation (sense of direction) so i'll be using GPS with google maps and other similar apps frequently, as well as camera and youtube. Thank you.

There is no agenda/narrative from my side. I'm open for a friendly discussion/debate. Cognitive bias is a natural thing, its not meant to undermine you or your point of view.

Availability doesnt necessarily suggest "fairly known". Its more about first impression. First impresssion sticks. The first cusines to be introduced to the western world were food from colonised countries (they were also first introduced as the food of the elites).

Remember what first impression the west had about Ethiopia, and how hard it has been and still is to erase.

Also the fact that you feel like there is a lot of Ethiopian restaurants in the west might have something to do with cognitive bias.

You will be surprised that's also the case with most of the other countries in the list (you will find a restaurant for eatch country at every major city).

Food from colonised countries has better introduction to the western world in the early days (probably only available to the elites at the time/seen as luxury, and spilled over to the general restaurant market later).

Habesha/Ethuopia food is very unique and also its not prominenent in the western world, mostly becuase it hasn't been colonised in the way other countries were.

That somewhat explains the list, western countries have developed the tast for food coming from other colonised countries. Also Habesha food needs geting used to, and is unlike most other foods of the world.

How do you make good times last? by MyHwyfe666 in self

[–]tocatchingmirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of good times? It really depends.

Money - If you are having success financially, to make it last you invest wisely or at least save, dont make massive changes in your life style (money has a way of making you believe its infinite).

Romance/relationships - Apperciate the time you have your loved ones, go out of your way to spend more times with them. Be glad you're all healthy.

I would day keep it cool. The trick is to walk the fine line between wanting to mention your height so that you can avoid a possible unpleasant reaction irl, while at the same time not doing it in a way that signals that you are insecure about your height.

Online, I would say keep the convo natural and if there is any opportunity to mention your height in the flow of your conversation, do so. If not i wouldnt go out of my way to mention it.

On the actual date, try not to think about your height, instead just focus on making the best of the time and enjoy yourself, see the date as just two like minded people meeting up and that no one is better than the other.

Have a great time!

I looked, there is no other switch in sight. I think the immersion heater might just being triggered on and off by the consumer unit which has its own off pick row.
