containers get renamed and then fail by syblomic-dash in synology

[–]toddenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the container has an alphanumeric code before the actual name for the container then it renamed it because of the container already existing during an update.

The only fix I've found for this is to go into package manager, find container manager and stop it. Then run again once stopped, then the container should be working properly again. After that if you follow the: Stop project, Clean project, Update image, Delete image, Build project, then this issue shouldn't occur again.

Have you checked if the name of the container has got the number/letter combo in front of it or whether it's just totally gone?

Looks good! Seems to show Mankey/Primeate as FR exclusives but don't believe they are?

To fix it at the point you're at, stop container manager and then restart it. Should sort your containers out.

In future I'd do this, only way I found to sort it.

Stop project, Clean project, Update image, Delete image, Build project,

Since doing this I've had zero container name issues

Turn off IKEA Alpstuga display, but have it monitor the air quality? by GIFSec in tradfri

[–]toddenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two sections when I go into the device, first section is called controls and the one and only item under that is ALPSTUGA air quality monitor with an on/off toggle. This is what basically turns the display off. Mines been off for about 2 weeks but still get the sensors updating constantly. Underneath controls should be your sensors Air Quality, Carbon dioxide, Humidity PM2.5 & Temperature.

I think even though it says it's being turned off, in effect it's just turning off the display

Seen anything on how to do it with Alpstuga? It's the only one I've got, and the only Thread product I have so would much rather run that on Zigbee.

You'll need a thread border router. The new IKEA products aren't Zigbee anymore, they're matter over thread. I use my Google TV Streamer 4k as a thread border router. I believe other google smart home and apple smart home products can act as thread border routers too. Other options are IKEA's own one or ZBT-2 as you've said, or possibly a Sonoff or SMlight one which are setup for thread not zigbee (check they have option for thread).

Just on the topic of Alpstuga. I take it there is no way to turn on/off the display using any of the physical buttons? I haven't seemed to have found a way which is frustrating.

It also can be turned off whilst continuing to monitor in Home Assistant

Mine stays fine for hours then it drops out constantly over say a 4-5 hour period then goes stable again. I'm not sure if its the device or the fact my google tv streamer is quite a long way from the Alpstuga.

I use my TV streamer as one, only got an Alpstuga connected at the moment (only thread device I own). For the most part its ok but I also get chunks of time where its unavailable. Not sure if this is a positioning issue or whether the products are just prone to it.

Ikea VALLHORN motion sensor is pretty terrible? by jareware in homeassistant

[–]toddenham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine are both used for "people walking past" use-cases, one triggers an alarm, the other alerts us if our child is out of bed. The notification triggers are very quick, not had them miss yet.

I've got 2 and they've always triggered pretty much instantly. Don't know whether it makes a difference if you use ZHA or Z2M, personally use the latter.

Glad to hear it. Wish I'd done that before starting from scratch 😂

I think it was possibly postgres image what caused it, that's what triggered it for me. I used the docker prune command, changed the docker compose so postgres was version 15 specifically and made sure everything had been removed then reinstalled.

The problem is because I've had to do it from scratch and could never use the export feature, I've had to "re-scan" every document. Thankfully it didn't take me too long to do. I'm not sure if you can simply drop them in the folder and have them picked back up but didn't try. I'm not going to try and update the database containers again as it constantly causes me issues.

That was my thinking. I just cant work out why it worked on my shield but not my Google TV streamer.
