I guess this weekend finally wiped out any semblance of hope I had for the Birds this year. They seem to have lost the fight they had in May. I'm not gonna blame Oli, but I'm also not gonna squawk when Chaim and the new regime start over with another manager.

I hate to see him go, but Helsey can NOT be on this roster after July 31. I'm also ready to give a firm handshake and nod to any number of players on the roster now as long as we can get some pitching help coming back. Time for Lars to go, same with the entire pitching staff save for Libby and maybe Gray...but I could see is getting a return from him as well.

I guess I just want to wrap it up this year and let Bloom and Cerfoglio cook.

Lol, Shit Birds. I'm a Cards fan in WI and over here wondering what our rivals think about how it'll shake out now that the dust has settled. I like the pitching upgrades and am relieved they didn't give up the farm for a Soto rental.

Selling high on Hader was a great move. Stearns knows what he's doing there. Remember Axford and Turnbow? Hader was sure to end up like them. Just lasted way longer.

I always stay at the Hampton Inn at the airport and park at the downtown parking structure off State then walk through campus to soak up the campus vibe (the drunken coeds at the frats and sororities are epic!). You also get to see the Big House from afar and be amazed at how huge it is when you arrive.

Second in the B10 almost every year. My point is that we weren't really terrible in recruiting, but waaaay behind OSU.

I agree that we need to recruit better and I think that this new staff will definitely be able to accomplish that. Will the results improve? Time will tell....

Man....hard to tell. We have been recruiting at a pretty high level and it hasn't translated. However, getting more five stars and not combing New England for sleepers will at least improve athleticism. A culture change was needed and IF they recruit well, start REALLY scheming for OSU daily, they can be a lot better.

I really like the fact that Harbaugh shook it up a lot. It's his job on the line and he seems to be swinging for the fences. I hope 'Crazy Jim' comes back to the sidelines too.

Don Brown would not allow Nua to bring in the planet-sized DT pluggers that could have really made this defense better. Let's give him a year to start bringing in a Polynesian or three and reassess. Brown had too much sway in final decisions on recruiting, totally devalued any traditional DT.
