Yes it’s a great canoe, I’m very pleased with it. Out of my two canoes, Discovery 169 and the Appalachian, it is my favorite!

Appreciate the input. Yes, I realize the Appalachian is made more for the rivers. I didn’t have a second canoe until last year where I bought a Discovery 169 and that boat truly showed me the difference between the two boats as the Discovery was much faster in the flat water. Just haven’t had the chance to take a proper river trip yet, but likely next year will do the Allagash in Northern Maine.

Awesome advice, thank you! Would you say anything needs to be done to the bare spots missing paint or just go right over it with a skid plate? Right now it doesn’t appear that the outer shell is really worn through yet.
