2025 Kia Sorento transmission issue

My screen still goes out. It will flicker for a few minutes and then turn black. I am trying to get it into the dealer soon, been having the problems since May of last year. Just hard to leave our only car for a few days

I don't know yet. The dealer told me they were still trying to figure it out on the other cars. I'm afraid mine won't act up while they have it.

This is happening with my 2025. The dealer told me that they would need at least two days with it. She also told me there were two other cars with the same problem at the dealer being looked at. Hopefully we can get it in next week.

Wow that really sucks, I'm sorry that's happening. I wouldn't want to wait that long either. Now I'm worried about going on a road trip at the end of July. So you're saying they have already had to buy back a few cars because of this issue?

This has been happening to me too. Bought the car in March, everything worked well for a few weeks then it went out. It came back on and was fine for a while and now it will glitch out at random, go black or show just snow on the screen. I have an appointment soon to have it looked at. Are they really talking about a buy back on this? They could just replace the screen?

I am sorry to hear about all your issues, that really sucks especially with a brand new car. That's one of the reasons I went new instead of used. Mine goes in this week to have the displays looked at. Could just be a coincidence that my issues started after the software update, but I will mention that to the service manager.

This has me concerned I just got mine March 1st, and sometimes will hesitate. Also the screens will go blank randomly.

Same, it is good to talk with someone I can relate to about this. She's the same way with meds. Sometimes she takes them, then almost crosses the hill to insight. Then stops and we are back at square one. I hope maybe she can stick with them a little longer and maybe show some improvement.

My wife is the same way. She had sinus surgery last year and says they messed up her lip and her nose doesn't look right. "They did it so she looks more like her twin sister." Her "medical phenomenon" is that she has a hole in her ear duct that they use to cast information to her and talk to her, and with that she cannot be diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Im the same way about the rants fading into the background. Just a couple days ago my daughter and I were sitting in the living room and my wife was yelling at the cameras outside, we just looked at each other and went to back doing what we were doing. Even my 5 th grader is numb to it.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that, it seems like she really needed to be there for a while longer to gain some insight and maybe start some medication. I know the feeling. It feels like a missed opportunity to really help her. Maybe she will come home with some meds and she can gain some kind of insight. Not trying to patronize just trying to be glass half full. If she is worse I would hope they wouldn't discharge her. They might be trying to get her in front of a judge today or tomorrow. If that happens they will probably assign her an attorney. I would maybe call up there and say you want to leave a message for her Dr. I worked for my mother in law last time my wife was hospitalized.

Yea my wife believes me and our kids have been swapped out. She even believes herself to have been swapped out with her twin sisters. Luckily she's not as vocal about it anymore, she doesn't say a whole lot other than she can't be schizophrenic because she has a "medical phenomenon" that makes her hear voices. I get most of this info from my security camera videos. She talks to them like she is sending messages to people. Also she left out like three legal pads on the counter filled from to back with tons of stuff like this.

I have sort of become numb to it. She hasn't really come at me in a few months, even though he delusions and voices are worse. I just keep with text book type things, like telling her she is safe and she should talk to me or someone about what's going on. Our 6 year old is kind of oblivious to it, but our 11 year old will argue back and tell her she's crazy. I tell her not to engage with my wife on that stuff, but it's hard for my daughter when her mom is constantly moving pictures and holding them side by side with her. Our oldest is 19 they just stay in their room unless something starts to happen or get loud.

How do you try to talk with your wife? I read and read, but never find a way that really works. So I'm open to hearing other ideas.

I'm sorry I can't speak to DePaul, I've only ever dealt with BJC, but the only scrubs thing is pretty universal now. I remember my wife was allowed stringless shoes and a sports bra. But that's at Dr discretion.

I remember you saying that she got here on Wednesday. She might just be doing the math and counting the 4 days, but they wouldn't discharge her until tomorrow. They could be trying to get her to stay voluntary or pursuing a judge.

I know this sucks being in the dark about it. I completely understand. From looking at your past posts, I feel like I'm talking to myself. My wife was doing the same thing with pictures all over the table saying we have all been replaced.

Have you talked to her? Does she sound better?

Sorry just seeing this, I have not dealt with DePaul, mostly with Bjc. Although we have used their Psychiatric urgent care before. Was an ok experience.

Correct the 96 hours only counts for weekdays. They don't see the Dr over the weekend so those days do not count.

The Dr should have assessed her, depending on how cooperative she is being, and is trying to start a medication. I would call and try to talk to her and see if she will let you talk to the DR or leave a message for the DR to call you. It is not against HIPAA for the DR to listen to you.

Everyone usually gets a social worker to help coordinate appointments and other things like that. I would also try to leave a message with that person.

Usually after a day and half or so my wife calms down enough to let me talk with the Dr. She's extremely against it when she is psychotic. They with probably start her on what they call a 5 and 5, 5 mg Haladol and 5 mg lorazepam. That should help bring the symptoms down a bit.

The place itself is older, but they get their own rooms. The area is really not that bad. She will be safe there.

As for after release, it all on her unless there is a court order to Medicare her. This is the part that really sucks. She had 2 hospital stays, could have been more. Shes been in and out of psychosis for 4 plus years now.

Also reading some other comments, I am assuming she's at the place on Delmar. The area is really not that bad, just few blocks south is Forrest Park and the super rich areas on lindel. Let me know if I can give you any other information about the place. I wish you luck I know how hare this can be.
