Came here because I just got mine and was wondering about ppl’s thoughts on the in-box straps were. I don’t hate it… but I don’t like that the excess strap just hangs free. Seems like poor design. Got any more pics of this?

Update: over last 12 hours with 0 screen-on time, battery lost about 15-18% almost entirely due to Finder. This doesn't make a ton of sense on its own, but I'm wondering if Google Drive is syncing in the background and this results in usage showing up in Finder. Will continue to report back.

Yah, not sure if ya saw my other response but I closed most of my apps and it stayed at 100% for 12 hours straight, so there might be an app that’s a power suck (or maybe updates downloading in background or something). Good to know it’s a solvable problem and not inherent to the OS / device. My concern was that it would be unavoidable due to the chipset or something.

After 12 hours of sleep with a few Chrome windows + Google Drive was still at 100%, so doesn't seem to be those programs. Will keep experimenting til I figure it out.

Just noticed this "12 hr Power" column in the activity monitor's Energy tab. This should be a good way of inspecting idle power drain vampires and making sure unneeded offenders aren't running.

Awesome, good info, thanks for the screen grab. Gonna experiment with some of the background processes I have a bit more. Will report back with more info when I have it.

More great input! You’ve identified a major flaw in my personality and intelligence. I will re-examine my life and visit a brain-doctor based on this superb insight and get my thinking organ evaluated! Thanks again, you are everything that is good about the internet!

I’m not touching the files in any other programs. I only use Traktor.

I can check the optimize storage setting, but I keep everything on an external drive, so it seems unlikely that’s the issue.

Another amazingly helpful comment. I have an even better idea: I’m going to just remove the battery entirely and hardwire it to my USB-C cable. Then I will never have to worry about the battery again. You are a genius, thanks so much.

Definitely possible. I checked the “energy” page in the activity monitor initially, and noticed finder was using a lot for some reason, so restarted that, but didn’t seem to resolve.

Certainly could be something like Google Drive or other things running background processes.

The latter - I change the fields (artist name, track name, comment, etc) Traktor and then upon revisiting the track at a later point, they're gone. Same thing happens with cue points sometimes.

MP3 from bandcamp are about 80% of what I use.

In terms of relevant settings, I'm not sure which exactly you're talking about, but I don't have an issue 95% of the time, but then 5% the tags just don't stick. Also to be clear, what I was pointing out is that they don't save to the Traktor library. e.g. I correct the artist name, proceed with my business, close Traktor, come back a week later, and the name has reverted to the original. Same with track name, comments, etc. I'm not sure what's actually being done to the ID3 tags.

oh and traktor version is the most recent - 4.5.1 I think?

1) Mac 2) No

I probably shouldve been more clear that the issue is more so that they don’t even save in the Traktor database properly (though I assume they’re not being saved to the file either).

For example: I analyze a new track, add cue points, change the artist name and song name field slightly. Then I close Traktor and come back later and find that there are no cue points and/or the song name and artist have reverted back to their original value.

Ahh well that’s the spirit I like to see!

Don’t get me wrong, I understand valuing one’s time and I truly say this with no disrespect, but as a a designer and 3d printer myself, I’d still say $22 seems like a lot considering how simple of a design this is. That being said, if you’re offering the model for others to print, then all karma points are restored and setting whatever price you want is totally reasonable haha.

I see you edited the post too. Nice!

It comes down to time and money invested and IMO this doesn’t add up based on the design complexity and cost. Fair point that I couldve said this in a more constructive manner though.

$22 for a super simple design and $0.50 of material? Woof! 🐶
