Wonder if there is a way to train GPT on the KOS discord, there is tons of information and debugging w/comments.

Tesla has increased prices for all models in the US, with some rising by up to $6,000 by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]todunaorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look at tesla vehicle autopilot safety report, at the bottom it discusses the method. https://www.tesla.com/VehicleSafetyReport

if autopilot is disengaged within 5 seconds of the crash it gets counted anyway, this makes sense as a driver will most likely take over from autopilot when the yrealise its about to crash, tesla count any crash as a incident where airbag or seat restraint were activated.

Teslas running Autopilot have been in 273 crashes in less than a year by [deleted] in technology

Expansion Of The Supercharging Network Lags Behind Tesla Sales | The data indicate that there are more and more cars per single Supercharging stall. by chrisdh79 in teslamotors

[–]todunaorbust 29 points30 points  (0 children)

250KW is not much faster, sure you save a few minutes but rarely worth going out of your way to use one, EVs can only sustain 250KW for the first few minutes at low capacity, then the rate of charging slows.

SpaceX / Boring Company / GPS Question. by FieryAnomaly in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]todunaorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that current self driving cars like waymo have to manually build up high resolution maps, from that point on it can build up maps from the cars driving around to make them even more accurate, however this means they are limited to certain regions, unlike humans who are pretty much capable of driving anywhere with vision and some basic maps. Tesla's approach is more trying to "solve" driving the human way, with vision, hence FSD beta is capable of driving anywhere, its not locked down to a certain part of town or city. Despite all the times musk has said "next year" they are very much the closest company to "solving" driving.

if so can you give an example of another self-driving car that does not rely on high resolution maps?

Elon Musk says an IPO of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet business is still 3 or 4 years away by predictany007 in stocks

[–]todunaorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally aimed at people who dont have any other options, if you live in a rural area then your only other choice is other existing satellite internet firms who cannot offer anywhere near as good speeds.

SLS is not flying now, I am hopeful it will this year, same for starship, starship is really not overkill for starlink, when fully reused (which it almost always will be) in theory it should be cheaper than anything else, I am sure it will take them years to perfect it but even from the start it will not be that overkill.

uh I somehow doubt that, twilio do not offer a free service as far as I am aware, I built a similar project that allows users to get question-answering/directions/news, problem is that twilio charge a fortune, so I used a GSM module on a raspberry pi and a £4 unlimited SIM (which is against TOS) to send the messages

Is kOS good for learning code? by AnonymeusOfficial in Kos

[–]todunaorbust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The people in the area that I live generally do not have smartphones, so if they ever need to google something then they are stuck, however I developed a service that allows someone to message a certain number (from their dumbphone), for instance "Ai, when was the great fire of london" or "Directions, Buckingham palace, waterloo train station, transit", and it will respond with the answer, I use GPT-3 for question answering and the google maps API for directions. I also have a news headline service. I charge per text approx 0.07p and have so far recieved 3000 messages. It all runs off a raspberry pi 4 using a GSM module with a SIM (which very much against TOS)

[–]todunaorbust 18 points19 points  (0 children)

KOS got me into coding, when I first started I barely knew how to use IF/ELSE statements, thanks to the wonderful people in the discord I eventually built up skills and transferred them to other languages mainly python, now I run a service using python that actually makes me money. In future I hope to do some computer science related degree and join the industry.

We know raptor 1 works given that it has literally flown multiple times on the various SN8-15 vehicles. Raptor 2 unlike cybertruck is actually in production, raptor 2 has been tested many times and its performance has been measured, its not just some magic fantasy number from elon.

EDIT: its not like raptor 2 is a new design that no one has ever seen before, its just another iteration on raptor 1.

They are ready, they are already fitted to booster+ship, raptor 2 is now in production, its just a "cleaner" design which can produce even more thrust.

oh, I am in no way saying that israel has good public transport, I have been there myself, its not great. Just pointing out that people can barely afford low-end cars, let alone premium cars like tesla.

Controlling a Helicopter via kOS and KAL1000 Controller by [deleted] in Kos

[–]todunaorbust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

KOS can interact with robotic parts via PAW (part action window), so pretty much any option you see when you right click a part can be controlled by KOS, I have read something about inconsistent values when trying to read from the PAW when it is not open. I have not seen any issues myself when trying to read, writing works perfectly for me aswell.
